Reyansh,

I can't express how happy I am that you didn't tear the last letter. Seriously. I know that you try and show the world that you're this super cool dude who doesn't need anyone but I know that you're lonely.

Being secluded and separated can be really difficult sometimes because we always do need someone with us. I know you need a friend more than anyone. To be honest, I'd love to be your friend. It'll be cool. A grumpy, sadu and lonely Slytherin and me, a happy, carefree and amazing Hufflepuff.

Wow. We could be a good pair of best friends.

Okay, not best friends. I already have Archit for that and no one else can take his place but surely, we could be good friends.

You do know me right? I mean, yea, the college does know me but I'm not as popular as you are. But, I really hope you do know me. If not, I'll let you know that I'm the same weirdo who mistakenly dropped coffee on your date.

Sorry. Honest mistake.

Waise, I think you know me. Warna hallway mein you wouldn't have glanced at me like that.

Anyway, hoping we'd be friends some day.

Yours,
Pranati

'Jugnu Mishra.'

But before Reyansh could hear her name, his phone rang and he left Jugnu's hand.

'Yes, I'm leaving. See you at the club.' With that he faced Jugnu, 'Mowgli, where are your parents? It's not safe for young girls to be alone this time of the night.'

Jugnu furrowed her brows, 'Don't worry. I have all tricks under my sleeve.' She winked at him, removing a thin knife from underneath her sleeve as Reyansh's eyes widened.

'Wow!' He laughed, standing in front of the tiny girl. She was half his height. 'Pakki kamini hai tu. Maa bhi aisi hai kya?' He joked and Jugnu stepped forward inching closer to him with her knife.

'Don't say anything against my mother. She's the sweetest.' Jugnu said, raising her knife as Reyansh raised his hands in surrender.

'Okay, okay.' He said and Jugnu stepped back, lowering her knife, 'Toh baap?'

Jugnu put the knife back in her sleeve, 'Haan. Ho sakta hai.' She said, sitting on the bark of the tree where lay her suitcases and bags.

Her father was an ass to leave them both. So yea, he was the biggest moron.
Reyansh tilted her head, watching the kid, 'Ho sakta hai? You don't know your father's traits?'

'I don't know my father.' Jugnu said picking up some pebbles from below and pocketing the sharp ones, 'He left my mother and me.'

Reyansh sighed on that and looked at the girl. She looked fiercely strong for a kid and didn't seem like she missed her father. In fact, she looked chilled.

Would his kid be this chilled too? Would his kid miss the fatherly love he couldn't provide? Or perhaps the kid's mother was enough for it.

'Sorry to hear that.' He chipped, not knowing what else to say to a kid.
