t w o. Chalo Delhi

Reyansh,

I cannot believe you tore my letter! Haww. That was pretty mean. Kiss mitti ke bane ho yaar?

I swear, if Delhi hadn't welcomed it's first shower of rains today na then I would have been so mad at you. But, Delhi saved your ass.

First rains! Haaye. Mera toh pura din aacha hua. And we needed such a shower in such a hot atmosphere! Today's rains wiped away all my fears and also my anger on you.

People hate Delhi, I don't know really know why. I mean I know it's too unsafe for girls, and really hot at times and not to forget the growing pollution but I love Delhi. Mera dil, mera pyaar sab yahi hai!

I think I'm never leaving Delhi, ever. It's such a soulful city. And in this hustle and bustle, I can see myself mingling and having fun. Seclusion mein toh marr jaungi.

Seclusion se yaad aaya, you know that you don't have to have lunch alone. You can sit with me! It's okay, I'll handle the glares of your fanclub. But atleast you'll get some company.

Please don't tear this letter! My heart will break...

Lol. My heart's too strong to break.

But, please please please read!

And haan, Delhi is love,

Yours,
Pranati

'Delhi?'

'Yes, Delhi.'

Pranati was taken aback when her daughter mentioned the city which held her past. Never did she ever want to go back to that wretched city and nor would she let her daughter go there.

'Delhi kyu jaana hai tumhe?' She asked her daughter, chopping the tomatoes as Jugnu sat on the kitchen counter, drinking milk, 'And just suddenly?'

'Haan. Vacation. Plus, I'm tired of Mussoorie.'

That wasn't true at all. Jugnu absolutely loved her birthplace and everything about Mussoorie was amazing, including her small family. Yet, she had to convince her mother somehow.

'Why, Jugnu?' Pranati chipped sadly, 'Mussoorie is so beautiful. And then Delhi se toh kaafi aacha hai, meri toofan. Delhi mein pollution kitna hai pata hai?'

'Muje kaise pata hoga?'

'Muje pata hai.' Pranati narrowed her eyes at her daughter, 'Bahut hai.'

Jugnu pouted, thinking of ways to counter her mother. What could she say that wouldn't make Pranati doubtful of her intentions? She had to go to Delhi, she had to do something that her mother would be happy again. However, no matter what she did, Pranati wasn't happy at all. Sure she occasionally did smile, but never did she giggle, or laugh or snort at her jokes. In fact, Jugnu had never seen her mother genuinely happy.
