f i v e . Archie and Jughead

Reyansh,

Sorry. I was held up by a lot of personal issues cause of which I couldn't write a letter for the past few days. But I strangely missed writing and I hope you missed these letters too.

Also, what is up with that secret smile you hide? Don't call me a stalker but the other day when you were practicing in the court all by yourself, I saw you smile when you scored a basket from the other end.

I know you'd be wondering what was I doing at 6 in the morning but trust me, I wasn't stalking you. I had arrived early for my band practice. Anyway, I really really really loved that smile on your face.

One of the rarest.

I hope I get to see you smile again soon. And maybe someday even be reason of your smile.

Also, I know you don't care, but, you could, you know, come see us play? Only if you want to. We practice in the auditorium in the mornings!

You're an amazing basketball player, Rey. Hope you know that it brings a genuine smile on your face. Hold onto it. Hold onto all the things that make you happy.

They may soon slip away.

Yours,
Pranati

'Morning Jugnu,' Chetna said, as Jugnu sat on the bed.

'Massi, can I ask you something?'

Chetna sat back, looking at her niece, 'Bolo.'

'Wasn't DM's college, St. Stephen's?' Jugnu asked, trying to sound as unsuspecting as possible, 'Because we halted our cab there by mistake.'

On the mention of Pranati's college, Chetna's sleep vanished and she hesitantly answered, affirming Jugnu's doubts.

'Then why didn't she react?' Jugnu asked more to herself than Chetna, wondering what went wrong.

'Who didn't react, beta?' Chetna asked, ruffling Jugnu's hair.

'Um, woh,' Jugnu held Chetna's hands in her little ones, 'Can you take me there please?'

'Why?' Chetna asked, confused and surprised, 'Instead I'll take you and Pranju to a nearby park, baby.'

'No!' Jugnu pleaded, pouting and making her signature puppy face, 'Please massi. I loved that huge banyan tree and I want to swing there! Please.'

Chetna debated whether or not to take Jugnu out to the place that started it all but then what harm would befall if Jugnu went there? Plus she really wanted some time with her niece and it was very difficult to refuse Jugnu when she pleaded this way.

'Accha cool, we'll go there soon.' Chetna forwarded her hand, 'But in turn, I need something.'

'What?'

'A free pass to kiss your cute cheeks for a week? Deal?'

'Only hugging and that too only for one day.'

'Three days.'

'Deal!'

Jugnu and Chetna giggled as they shook hands and then got into a battle of tickling where both ended up laughing and huffing, whilst Pranati smiled at the duo.
