Dear Pranati,

Main ek hafte college nahi aaya toh tu mujhe bhul toh nahi gayi?

Sorry yaar, kya karu, bachpan ke kuch kisse hai jo aaj bhi tang kar rahe hai, and issliye ek hafte ka break liya hai. This letter should reach you before I meet you.

Waise, Bangkok superb hai, and yaha mein aur mere cousins maaze kar rahe hai. But no matter what I do here, or where I go, I miss you so much. Honestly, I have everything here for me, money, booze, lavishness, girls (wink wink), but tu nahi toh kuch nahi.

I swear, it's like you've put some spell on me. And your one letter is worth thousand such trips.

I'm gonna resume college by Monday, vacation se zyaada mazza tere gaane sunne mein aata hai. And do not tease me over the compliments I shower on you, warna phir kabhi letter nahi likhunga.

See you soon?

Yours,

Reyansh.

P.s. sorry, ye letter mujhse likha nahi jaata, I spend two hours to write this. And I'm done lol. Mujhse nahi hoga

Reyansh was better than before, but still unwell, and Pranati stayed with him the entire time, much to Jugnu's dismay. She was still so clueless why they were helping someone they were supposed to be mad at! At least she knew she had to be angry with him. How in the world was her mother so calm? She was mad, confused and frustrated that they had to serve a man who did not look back at them once.

Jugnu sometimes doubted her mother's intelligence, because to be surreal with a man who never contacted them once, never met them, never asked about them, lived a lavish life while they struggled with daily expenses, working two jobs, was something beyond her understanding. And now that she found this picture, this happy mom of hers, with her supposed father, she felt even more sad.

How is that her mother was so happy with this man, but not with her? She had never in her life seen Pranati this carefree and cute, and here she was so comfortable and truly happy with him.

Maybe it was she?

"Jugnu," Pranati called out to her and Jugnu hid the picture behind the pillows, sitting on the sofa with her legs folded. "Kab se dhund rahi hu, kaha thi?" She handed her a glass of milk, chocolate milk, the way she liked it and Jugnu sighed.

"I thought you were busy with that man." She said, huffing, not used to the attention of her mother being divided onto someone else than her. "So I came here,"

"Oh," Pranati pouted, "I see, someone is a little mad at me." She nodded, and Jugnu rolled her eyes, placing the glass of milk on the coffee table. "May I know why?"

"You know why." Jugnu averted her gaze, "I don't like him."

"I don't like him either."

"False." Jugnu turned towards her mother, "if you did not like him, you would not be with him for the entire day!"

"No," Pranati pulled her daughter's cheeks, "I do not like him, but I am not inhuman, to leave him like this."

"Inhuman?" Jugnu asked, shaking her head. "What does it mean?"
