t w e l v e. fireworks and they

Reyansh,

How dare you ignore me on the grounds! Like what the fuck.

I legit waved at you, screamed your name and you eyed me like I was some weird ass stranger and all my friends laughed at me. Dude, that was so rude and unnecessary.

I am writing you these for months now! Three to be exact and all I know about you is nothing.

It's just me endlessly and mindlessly talking and ranting and you, reading them. I mean, I wanna know stuff about you too! What else can I do to be your friend?

I know you're alone and it's okay to be alone if one is content. But honestly, you don't seem to be content or happy.

You seem like you need a hug.

I can hug you.

Archie says I smell like chocolate and mint (mostly because I stack them in my bag) and they're my favorite munchies, but if you love that scent, you can hug me.

My warm hugs will melt your frozen heart too, Mr. RK

Anyway, I am not going to write these letters anymore. After that insult, I'm done.

Always ready for a warm hug, but this is it. Can't keep sharing my secrets to someone who cannot even pass a smile at me.

Yours,

Pranati

P.s. post lunch time, behind cafeteria, I sit alone for some time to get some air.

'DM, this room is so beautiful and big right?' Jugnu immediately said when Reyansh left the room, gawking at the spacious room.

Pranati nodded, and looked at the huge room. It was massive their small room in Mussoorie, and very comfortable and spacious and moreover it was painted in pastel yellow and shades of brown and black. And Pranati knew how much Jugnu loved the color black.

'And it's in both our favorite colours DM!' Jugnu smiled, throwing herself on the king sized comfy bed. 'Yellow and Black! What a weird coincidence na?' She asked, loving the bouncing bed.

Weird coincidence.

But it was really pretty looking room for sure. Even though it was now way past sunset, the room was brightly lit and overall neater and smelled so much like mint and chocolates. There was a dresser and drawers to the side, a punching bag opposite in a corner and a french window balcony etched out with dim reading light and a swing. Pranati walked across the room, one wall had various frames of his family and him, one wall was completely blank and the other one had something which struck a nerve.

A basketball loop.

She gulped, looking up at the loop, bitter words refreshing in her memories as she found the basketball lying in a corner and as Jugnu played with the foosball table kept aside, Pranati wondered what happened with Reyansh's basketball career.

After all he left her and Jugnu for that.

But, she shook her head, ignoring that question and not wanting to do anything with Reyansh's personal life and opened the yellow cupboard. The scent of strong deo and a faint smell of wet soil hit her, and she instantly remembered him. He always carried a fresh wet soil smell, because he was often outdoors with the basketball and whenever he hugged her, sweaty and muddy, she had that smell registered in her senses.
