f o u r t e e n. plain boring milk
Pranati,
I'm sorry.
I really am.
I, I didn't know what to do, especially with people around. I'm not used to social interactions and especially not from someone as you.
I know, me ignoring you must've felt like a slap in the face especially when you've been writing to me for so long.
And I thought I could live in peace without your letters bothering me. And felt like it was a good riddance.
But it isn't.
I miss you dude. Insanely.
Please write back.
Please accept my friendship?
You're literally the only friend I have.

'Jugnu?' Pranati spoke aloud, not being able to spot her daughter anywhere.
The house was too massive and complicated with doors opening anywhere and staircases leading nowhere. Pranati had gotten up from a backache and she noticed her daughter gone from the side of the bed. Understanding her daughter's curiosity, Pranati freshened up quickly and hoped they weren't late for breakfast.
Pranati wore a simple kurti over her leggings, and clipped her hair before setting out of the room in search for her notorious daughter but Jugnu was nowhere to be seen.
She landed on a sleeping Reyansh who lay on the floor now, his upper half of the body on the sofa and his head on the stone cold floor. She shook her head, thankfully not tripping on him else he would have been trampled underneath her feet.
Pranati found the staircase which lead to the lower floor but on asking the staff, she found out that Jugnu hadn't been around and they told her to check upstairs. While losing her way for the third time, she gave up and approached the sleeping Reyansh.
'Reyansh?' She asked, looking down at the man sleeping like a log. 'Wake up.'
Reyansh did nothing, he didn't even move. It wasn't news to her that he slept like a log, because she was well acquainted with his sleep. And that it was a task waking him up.
She bent down, sitting on knees and shook him, 'Reyansh, get up.'
But he tsked, almost holding her hand and instead found his blanket to hug and sleep back. Pranati really wanted to find her daughter before she landed in a mess, but waking up Reyansh was a task in itself.
'Kaun hai?' He said sleepily, 'So jao yaar.'
'Reyansh, I cannot find Jugnu in this huge house. Please wake up!' She reasoned with him.
'Subah subah jugnu nahi milte, raat ko...' He mumbled, eyes closed, 'Shoo...' He muttered incoherently, back to his steady sleep.
