Reyansh,

Sorry. Aaj jaldi main hu. So a short letter.

You know our band is been selected for an intercollegiate competition! I'm super excited for it. Also, that means I won't be around for your championship.

Well never mind. You'll do well without my support anyway.

I always wonder how this entire thing started. It's been over a month and I'm writing letters to you. I don't know whether you read or not, but I am habituated now and cannot stop these letters.

It's like our fates have finally entwined.

Sorry not sorry, but I am super cheesy.

Miss reading my letters okay?

I know I will miss writing letters to you

Yours,
Pranati

'Haaye. Kinna sona lag raha hai.'

Reyansh furrowed his eyebrows at his grandmother who was talking to no one in particular. He looked around to see whether there was anyone else around but there really wasn't. He then entered the room and stood behind his grandmother.

'You know. Ek tu hi hai jisse main apna sab kuch baat sakti hu. I love you.'

Reyansh shook his head when he saw Baljeet actually seated and talking to the whiskey glass in her hand. He patted his forehead and walked towards his grandmother.

'I love you too.'

Baljeet looked in absolute shock at the whiskey glass in her hand. 'Hain? Tu bolne bhi lag gaya. And why do you sound like my baby Reyansh?'

Reyansh held his chuckle and sat down, hugging his grandmother from behind and Baljeet took a second to realize. 'Tu mera mazak uda raha tha, Rey?' She held his ear and twisted it, bringing him in front of her.

'Daadi!' Reyansh yelled and still smiled. 'Aap whiskey ke glass se phir se baatein karne lag gaye? Mazak main nahi aap karti ho.'

Baljeet chuckled, and Reyansh sat down besides her. He then poured a glass of whiskey for him too and clinked the glass with Baljeet's.

'Waise aaj subah subah?' Reyansh asked, knowing that Baljeet only drank at weekends and only in the evenings.

And though it was a Saturday, Reyansh was concerned why his grandmother was drunk early in the morning. Baljeet chuckled, finishing the drink in one shot and Reyansh looked at her because all he could do was take a sip of the strong neat drink.
