You know how they say "don't give up on love if it doesn't work out the first time."? Well the question is, "how are you supposed to give up on something you never knew you had?" The truth is, I always thought I was alone. I mean, I knew I had Molly and Antonio to lean on, but I knew never to lean on them 100%.

I guess that's the reason I came up with a bunch of rules just to be sure they won't go and stab me in the back. And even after I banished them from my life for breaking our friendship rule, it didn't make things any better for me.

I only felt worse, feeling even lonelier than ever for the three months I had to spend without them. Now here they were in my room, asking for my forgiveness and permission to be back into my life. After we finally broke apart from the hug which lasted for several moments.

I went into my bathroom to wash my face so I don't look like someone who cried all night. I walked back into my room to meet them both sitting on my bed comfortably. I flashed them a ghost of a smile and they gave me a genuine one. I sighed and walked over to lie down on my bed, facing the ceiling. After an awkward and uncomfortable silence, I decided to ask.

"How was Valentine's for y'all? Didn't see you both at the annual interhouse sports all day."

"Oh, um, yes. We were too busy convincing your Mom to let us pull this off for you," Molly responded. I just groaned, realizing my room is still covered with red and white decorations. I let out a sigh into my pillow, and left my head buried in it.

"You really shouldn't have, you guys―" I said after a while. "Are you kidding? Remember rule 10, if one friend is sick, moody or emotionally down, the other one is responsible for bringing supplies to make them feel better. And rule 16? When your bestie needs you there, you need to be there." Antonio said and Just geek I thought he was done talking he spoke again

"It was obvious that you needed us here with you now more than ever. And so, we stayed and waited for you here," Antonio said and I couldn't help the slight ache my heart was feeling. They still valued and took our friendship rules seriously. I was just really surprised that Antonio knew it by heart. My heart was aching at this point because I didn't think they would still care much. Heck, I didn't think they would care at all after the way I treated them all because of some stupid rules.
"Are you okay?" Molly asked after a while.

"Do I look OK to you? I mean, look at me. All I have are my science skills to live for. Nothing is―"

"I won't let you complete that statement, Chloe," she said as her hands flew up to my mouth to keep my quiet. Once she was sure I wasn't going to talk, her hands dropped back to her side. "I don't know why you can't see the beauty, elegance and grace that we see in you. Why do you think we keep coming back? Why do you think we stayed friends with you even after you gave us a list of rules to follow?"
