~Gloria~"Wakey wakey, sis get up or your going to be later for school."
"Hmmmm ahhhh, it's a good day to be wicked."
I said raising from my bed completely forgetting my little brother Syia was still in my room. He looked at me like I had suddenly transformed into a vampire before his very eyes and I rolled my eyes at him Saying
"Syia!! Get out of my room already."
" you know some times I wonder how we are related."
He said in his tick South African accent and I glared at him in response. He finally left my room grumbling and I got to work getting ready from school by heating the shower first.
I am sure you are wondering how a South African girl like me live with her family here in Lagos, Nigeria. Well it's pretty simple, my mom is Nigeria from Kwara state hence the surname Kamari,
and my dad is from Limpopo of South African.Hence why my middle name is Lindiwe meaning waited for, but I suck with the English name i Was given which was Gloria. My brother's name is Siya, fortunately I do not know what that means but I know he is one hell of a torn in my flesh. I got out of the bathroom and wiped my body clean before using a little body lotion. We weren't supposed be schooling here in Nigeria, this was all moms fault she began to lead a wayward life and end up stealing from the wrong person.
We were not only separated from our dad but we were deported with immediate effect all the way down to Nigeria. For a while i struggled to fit in and had repeat JSS one in 3 different school because none of them offered Swahili. As if that was not enough I was bullied most of the time because I couldn't speak English properly. Entering Wesley Academy at age 14 i though things would be chilled and I won't be picked on, boy was I wrong. It got worse and just when I was about giving up I met Matilda.
I head out of my room to the dinning room to get myself breakfast. Matilda was the reason I left Westley in the first place. She was also the reason why I am back in Westley Academy, to finish what she started. She was the one that taught me how to speak English, taught me everything I needed to know to survive in Westley academy.
Just like you through away the groundnut shell after eating the groundunt inside, that's the same way Matilda got rid of me after she used and dumped me. I was soo hurt that immediately after my JSS 3 I got transferred to another school a school I had no ideas existed and they were comfortable with me speaking Swahili.
