Today was Hayley's wedding—and Elizabeth was freaking out.

She wasn't even the one getting married, but somehow her nerves were worse than the bride's. Maybe it was sympathy anxiety, or maybe it was the fact that weddings just made her skin crawl. Hayley felt the same. They'd bonded over that particular hatred. The only reason she agreed to this whole spectacle was for the sake of her pack—and, Elizabeth suspected, for the twins.

She and Rebekah had helped pick out the dress. Hayley had looked stunning, fierce and regal, just as a hybrid queen should. But the dress hadn't done much to calm the werewolf bride's nerves—or Elizabeth's own.

Now, Elizabeth was enjoying something rare and sacred: a morning in bed. No toddler cries, no magical emergencies, no Kol-related chaos. Just soft sheets, silence, and the luxury of a few more minutes of sleep.

Klaus had gotten up early, probably off compelling half of New Orleans to turn Hayley's wedding into something out of a royal fantasy. Honestly, the man was a terrifying mix of sugar daddy and fussy housewife. He planned like a man possessed, while she couldn't stick to one idea for more than five minutes. Organizing things? Not her strong suit. Her brain was too... sparkly. Chaotic. Glitter bomb energy at all times.

"Love, someone's here to see you," Klaus's voice floated through the door, rich and amused.

She groaned and flung the blanket off. She shuffled sleepily toward the door in her SpongeBob pajamas, hair sticking up like a wild nest. "If they don't have beignets, I swear to God I'm cutting their spleen out, because I—"

She stopped.

Dumbfounded.

In the doorway stood Camille and Elijah—each holding a twin.

Elizabeth froze, mouth parted slightly as her eyes locked on her daughters. Kolina in Elijah's arms, already frowning like she was judging the world. Kayla in Camille's, beaming and babbling happily.

They had grown. It had only been a few weeks, but babies changed fast. Chubbier cheeks, more alert eyes, tiny curls growing in.

She didn't realize she was holding her breath until Klaus stepped beside her, grinning like a smug bastard.

"Lovely pajamas," he said with a wink, handing her a familiar white paper bag. "And here. I wouldn't want anyone to lose their spleen today."

She took the beignets, still too stunned to respond. Her heart was in her throat.

"Nik..." she finally managed. "What are they doing here? Finn's still out there. It's not safe."

The worry crashed into her like a wave. Finn had cursed Kol, and with Rebekah and Davina still working on a cure, things were far from under control. Turning Kol into a vampire wouldn't undo the hex. And with Finn unaccounted for? It felt too risky.
