Elizabeth sat on the plush sofa with Klaus beside her. Between them, the twins were cradled in their arms, each suckling from a bottle as the quiet hum of nighttime wrapped around the compound. The chaos of the art show, Lucien's reappearance, and the unnerving prophecy still lingered heavily in the air.

Klaus broke the silence, his voice low. "You're worried."

Elizabeth glanced at him, startled. She hadn't realized how much her thoughts had shown on her face.

"I assure you," he continued, "this prophecy is nothing but mystical nonsense. The Mikaelsons have stood for over a thousand years. That isn't changing now."

Elizabeth scoffed softly. "You know that's not true, right? Kol and Finn already died. Twice."

Her voice dipped, trembling with honesty.

"I could lose all of you. And I can't. You're the family I chose, Klaus. The only one I've ever really had."

Klaus looked at her, his expression softening. Kayla hiccupped and finished her bottle. He shifted her gently, patting her back.

"You won't lose us," he said quietly. "I won't let that happen."

Elizabeth glanced down at Kolina, still feeding contentedly in her arms. "You can't make that promise," she said, her voice gentler now. "But if you do die... I swear I'll bring you back just to slap you. Because you broke it."

Klaus chuckled, eyes gleaming. "As long as I get to wake up to my beautiful savior, I won't complain."

Elizabeth smiled despite herself. "Are you sweet-talking me to distract me from worrying?"

"Maybe," he said. "Is it working?"

She tilted her head thoughtfully. "Hmm... nope."

Her smile faded as her tone grew serious again. "Nik, we need to know more. That prophecy—what if 'fall' doesn't mean death? It could be symbolic, or it could mean something else entirely. And are we sure the twins aren't included?"

Kolina finished her bottle. Elizabeth set it down, adjusting the baby in her arms as she continued.

"If they are, then we need to be ten times more careful. And what about that 'beast'? It didn't look like a vampire. The fangs were different."

Klaus nodded. "Yes, I noticed that too. They weren't vampire or hybrid. I've never seen anything like it — and I've been alive longer than most things that walk this Earth."

Elizabeth frowned. "Exactly. Maybe it's something new. Or something not yet created. I saw venom mentioned in one of the grimoire pages Alexis showed us. Could be werewolf-related. Or maybe some kind of... witch-wolf hybrid."
