Part 17

Johnny went home.

"Where've you been? Your mom's been worried." Claire said

"I don't pay you to tell me off." Johnny told her "Go home".

Claire rolled her eyes as she walked past him and left

Johnny went into the living room and saw his mom sat by the sofa

"Where h-have you been?" She asked him

"Clearing my head." Johnny said

"So you're a b-bully."

"No! I was a bully! I'll admit it. But I've changed, I swear!" Johnny said

"Why did y-you suddenly ch-change?"

"For Hayden. Mom, I love him. I changed for him because he asked me to." He told her

"I'm j-just disappointed in y-you. I thought I r-raised you better th-than that." Grace said

"Am I not allowed to relieve some stress? I do everything for you day and night! Do you know how stressful my life is?!" Johnny said loudly

"I know I c-can be stressful. B-but it doesn't g-give you the right to b-bully other people." She told him

"I know! And I regret it. Mom, I swear to you, on grandad's grave and on Hayden, I didn't graffiti the school!"

"So why d-did Hayden lie?" She asked him

"Because he didn't want me getting kicked out of school. Why don't you believe me?" He said

"B-because you've lied t-to me about s-school. How do I know y-you're not l-lying about this?"

"After everything... everything that I've done for you! Everything that I do for you!" He yelled "And I never ask for anything in return! I never expect anything! But the one thing I ask for is you believe me! But you can't even do that! I do everything you ask me to! I cook, I clean, I fucking bathe you! I don't even talk about things because you don't want!"

"Like what?"

"Like my dad! You've never told me a thing about him! If I've ever wanted to know anything, I'd have to ask Grandpa! And even he would give me a vague answer!" Johnny shouted

"Well, wh-what do you wanna know?" She asked him

"I just wanna know one thing about him. One fucking thing. What was his name?" Johnny asked her sternly

She stayed quiet for a moment "Grey Davis. H-happy now?"

"Oh finally! After 17 years, she tells me my own father's name!"

"Go t-to your room." She told him

"When do you want me back down? When you need a piss?"

"Just go!"

Johnny looked at her before he ran upstairs and slammed his bedroom door as he went inside

The next morning,
Johnny went downstairs after getting dressed for school
He'd gotten his mom up an hour ago, but she hadn't said a word to him

He walked into the kitchen and saw her sitting at the breakfast table

"Sure you don't want me to make you breakfast?"

"I'm s-sure." She said

"Mom, I'm sorry about last night. I was just annoyed cos I was being accused of something I didn't even do." Johnny told her

"Whatever. Go t-to school, you'll b-be late."

"Fine." Johnny said before he left to the front door and picked his bag up before he left
