Part 11

The next morning,
Hayden went downstairs as he tied his school tie round his neck.
He saw Luna eating out of her bowl and she looked up at him

"Hey girl." Hayden said as he scratched behind her ear

He looked out the window and saw his parents in the backyard. He went outside and Luna followed close behind him

"Dad, can we go now?" He asked his parents "I don't wanna be late."

"We've got plenty of time." His told him "What do you think about getting a hot tub?"

"A hot tub? Are you having mid life crises?" Hayden asked his parents

"Well now that's rude." His mom said

"Do whatever you want. It's your backyard." Hayden told them

"Would you use it if we got one?"

"Yeah, course I would. It's a hot tub. But I wouldn't use with you. Being in a hot tub with your parents is kinda weird."

"Alright, then, suit yourself. Come on, let's get you to school." His Dad told him

Hayden was sitting with Annie outside at recess

"Hold on! You're going on a date with Johnny Orlando?!" Annie said loudly once Hayden told her

"It's not a date! We're just hanging out."

"Yeah, suuuure! How have you gone from getting your head shoved into a toilet by Johnny to literally dating."

"I'm not dating him! It's not a date." Hayden told her

"If you're so sure it's not a date, go ask him." Annie said indicating to Johnny walking outside

"No! I'm not gonna ask him if tonight's a date!"

"Yeah, because you already know it's a date." Annie said

Hayden looked over at Johnny "Alright, fine! I'll ask him."

"Go on then."

Hayden stood up and started walking over to Johnny

"Hey! Stalker!" Johnny said with a smile as he saw Hayden walking towards him

"Hi... I wanted to ask you something." Hayden said

"Yeah, sure. What is it?"

"Uh... you know tonight?"

"Yeah?" Johnny said

"Is tonight... is it, uh... um, is it a date?" Hayden asked nervously

Johnny's eyes widened, "Um... well to be honest... I asked you to go with me as a date. But it doesn't have to be a date if you don't want it to be."

"I... I'd rather it just be us hanging out. I just feel like I wanna get to know you more before we go on an actual date."

"Yeah! Yeah, course. If you want." Johnny said "But I'm still paying for your ticket and for food."

"But I just said-"

"It's not a date. But it's an apology from me for being a massive asshole to you." Johnny told him

"Ok. If you insist." Hayden said

"I do. So I'll pick you up at 7, yeah?"

"Yeah, sure. See you later." Hayden told him

"See you, stalker boy." Johnny joked as Hayden turned and walked away

Later that night,
Hayden put his jacket on before he went downstairs after he got a text from Johnny saying he was outside
