In Love With a Bully- Johayden

Part 1

Hayden carried his last bag upstairs to his new room.
He set the box on top of another one and looked around. There were a few boxers and a couple of suitcases on the floor, a queen sized bed in the corner of the room and a set of drawers in the other corner.

Hayden opened one of his suitcases and as he started unpacking his clothes into the drawers, he heard the doorbell ring

"Hayden, can you get that?!" His mom called from her bedroom

"Yeah!" He called back at her

Hayden walked downstairs and over to the front door.
As he opened it, he saw a shorter girl with long brown hair

"Hey.." he said awkwardly

"Hi. I'm Annie, I lived a couple of houses down. I saw you grabbing a box from the car and thought I'd come and introduce myself." She said

"Ok.... I'm Hayden." Hayden told her "Do you wanna come in? Hang out maybe?"

"Sure, if you're not busy."

"Nah, it's cool." Hayden said as he let her in and shut the door after her "Do you want anything to drink?"

"Can I just have some water please?" Annie asked as they walked into the kitchen

Hayden opened the fridge and grabbed two bottles of water and handed one to her

"Thanks." She said as she opened it

"Come on, we can hang out in the backyard. There's a bench swing attached to the tree and is literally the only place to sit around here." Hayden said

They went outside to the backyard and walked over to the back of the yard and sat on the bench swing.

"So where're you from?" Annie asked

"Texas. Me and my family move a lot cos of my dad's job. We never stay in one place more than a year."

"Do you know how long you're gonna be staying here?"

"My dad said this place is permanent, so hopefully for good." Hayden said as he opened the bottle of water "So what's there to do around here?"

"Not much. There's a small movie theatre, a McDonald's, a park and a couple of restaurants. If you wanna do anything else, you'll have to go to the town over." Annie told her

"I've stayed in places smaller. Last year, I stayed in a tiny town which only 30 people lived in. Me and my parents heard they were all related as well, so they were all inbred." He joked and Annie laughed

"You going to school or are you being homeschooled?"

"I'm going to school on Monday. What's it like there?" He asked

"It's alright. The teachers are cool. There's a few dickheads like Kenzie and Rush."

"What about your friends?" Hayden asked her

"I've only really got Asher." Annie said

"What's he like?"

"He's cool. I think he only hangs out with me because we grew up together though. When he started working out and getting fit, he made new friends at the gym like Johnny Orlando." She told him
