Part 27

Later that day,
Johnny walked into his house and shut the front door.
He dropped his bag next to the stairs and took off his tie before he went into the kitchen and went into the living room and sat on the sofa.

He breathed heavily, the entire house quiet. He leaned forward as he set his beer on the table and took his phone out of his pocket to call his mom

"Johnny...?" Grace said as she answered

"Hey, mom... just wanted to check on you." Johnny said as he stood up

"I'm ok. What're y-you doing?" Grace asked him "You'd b-better be having f-fun."

"Yeah, course I am. I'm out with Hayden and Asher." Johnny lied

"Good. Now g-go have fun. I'm f-fine."

"Yeah... sure." Johnny said before his mom hung up

Johnny dropped his phone on the sofa

He sighed, "Definitely just the kid who looks after his mom..." he said to himself

The next day,
Johnny was getting ready to go round Grey's house. He was dressed in black chinos and a navy button up shirt.
He grabbed his car keys and his phone before he left.

Johnny pulled over outside Grey's house as it was getting dark and walked over to the front door.
He rang the doorbell and waited a minute before Claudia opened the door. She was slightly shorter than Johnny, had dark skin and long brown hair and was wearing a red blouse and black skirt.

"Hey, Johnny. Good to meet you properly." She said with a smile

"Uh, hi." Johnny said nervously

"Come in."

Johnny walked past her inside and Claudia shut the door after him

"Grey's just finishing up the food." She said as they walked through into the living room

Claudia sat on the sofa facing the huge TV and fireplace and Johnny sat on the other sofa facing the door to the backyard

"Hey, Johnny!" Grey said as he walked into the room with glasses, a bottle of wine and a bottle of coke "Dinner'll be done in about ten minutes."

"Alright."

Grey poured wine into two glasses and coke into the other

"Thanks." Johnny said as Grey handed him the coke

Grey sat next to Claudia as he handed her a glass of wine

"So... how've you been?" He asked Johnny

"I'm ok. Been a bit nervous..."

"Well, I've been alright about tonight." Grey said

"He's lying! He's been so nervous about seeing you again. He's literally been sweating about it." Claudia said and Johnny laughed

"Shut up!" Grey laughed "So does your mom know you're here?"

"Yeah, I told her the other night. She's fine with it." Johnny told him

"Good. Cos like I said, I don't want to go sneaking behind her back."

"I don't to either." Johnny said and there was a moment of silence "So, uh... have you got any other family in England?"
