Next week,
Hayden was in his room getting changed before school.
He looked over at Luna laying on the end of his bed as he put his school shirt on.

"You tired, girl?" He said as he sat down next to her

Luna moved her head up and started licking his cheek

"I love you too." Hayden laughed as he moved his arm round

He picked up a couple of treats out of the packet in his drawer and fed them to her

"Good girl." He said as he petted her

There was a knock at the door, "Are you decent?" Hayden's dad asked

"Yeah." Hayden said as he stood up as his dad walked in

"So, we're gonna start decorating tomorrow." His dad told him

"So we really are staying then?" Hayden asked, buttoning up his white shirt

"Yeah, we're staying. You do want to, right?"

"Yeah, course I do. Why wouldn't I?" Hayden said

"Well... last week, just after you came home from school, you had a shower. And as you left the bathroom, I saw a bruise on your back." His dad said "You're not being bullied, are you?"

"What?! No, dad! I just fell down the stairs a bit, hit my back, that's all." Hayden lied

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. I'd tell you if I was being bullied." Hayden told him "But... there is something I wanted to tell you."

"What is it?" His dad asked

"So... you're in the military and stuff... you wouldn't mind if I didn't wanna do that, would you?" Hayden asked

"What?! No. Of course I wouldn't. You do whatever job you want. As long as it's not a porn star and it's legal, I don't care what you do."

"And there's also one more thing..." Hayden said "I'm, uh... I'm bi."

"Bi? So you like guys and girls?" His dad asked and Hayden nodded

"I think it's mainly guys that I like though." He said nervously

His dad was quiet for a moment

"Ok. That's ok." He said

"Really? You don't mind?" Hayden asked

"Why would I mind? You do whatever makes you happy. Like I said, as long as it's legal, I don't care." His dad said with a smile "So is now the right time to give you the sex talk?"

"What?! No! I don't need it!" Hayden said quickly

"Yeah, because you've been finding out about yourself."

"Huh?" Hayden asked, confused

"You should find a better place to hide your condoms." His dad said and Hayden turned bright red "You should be thankful your mom didn't find them because knowing her, she's force you to get checked for STIs."
