K'Shawn and Jason invited me for dinner one Sunday afternoon. I found the time to go to T J Maxx to pick out the perfect house warming present for them. It was a porcelain vase with painted flowers.
"This is delicious..." I chimed about the dinner of veal, asparagus, and baked potato. I sipped my glass of wine. K'Shawn smiled and said, "Jason made dinner, but I made dessert." I love their little apartment. I never was the one into spirituality but with their Feng Shui decorating style gave off a warm energy. K'Shawn seem to be happy as he looked into Jason's eyes.
I felt a twinge of guilt because I remember when he was a little boy. How sad he was. And how I couldn't do nothing about. Until I got tired of Jeremiah. K'Shawn was my beautiful little boy. Now a beautiful man that was in love.
I ate two slices of cheesecake. I told stories of K'Shawn when he was young.
Jason served me more wine and I had to refuse. I had to drive.
"I want to do something, Ma..." said K'Shawn. He kneeled in the front of Jason.
"Jason....you have been light when I first met you on Campus would you make me even happier by being my partner...." K'Shawn declared as he pulled out a golden band.
Jason squealed. I raised my glass. I was happy for the both.
That night I came home to find my kitchen window broke. I called the police before I even came in.
I made a report. My suspicions kept my mind on Jeremiah.
Afterwards, I decided to take a drive. While sitting at the red light, I saw two familiar people crossing hand in hand. James. The lady he was laughing with and holding on tightly was Laverne.
How can I tell or should I? I sat next to Vivian as Laverne would visit and not say a word.
"She still hasn't gone yet." said Vivian. Laverne asked if Tyrell was serious about her.
"If he isn't he needs to tell her." Tyrell came in to kiss Vivian. He spoke but in a cold way.
I got up to take the dirty wine glasses and dishes to the kitchen.
The Wright's unwanted guest came in. She looked at me without speaking and with narrow eyes.
Tyrell and her got into an heated discussion. "Look, I am not your boyfriend. You are just here... you need to go...." he seem to plead.
"You are lying and you saying in the front of her..." she exclaimed throwing me a look of contempt. "What is she? Your sugar mama...it's something up with the two of y'all!" Tyrell cried out "So.....Lydia call your Mama..." She walked off in a heated huff.
Tyrell let out a sigh. "I am so tired...." I agreed. There was a silence. " Keisha....if you knew something but you can't tell it...what would you do?" I shrugged. " Depending what it is..." I replied. He sighed again and left me in the kitchen.
