They walked towards the light, it grew brighter as they stepped closer to the tree line. Cedric held out his hand to grab Addie behind him, leading her through the sound barrier that surrounded the shore by the lake. It was almost overwhelmingly loud for Addie as she winced at the noise. The party was booming, music was blaring from the trees, the lights twinkled with the moonlight, it looked magical. Everyone who was there was dancing and laughing as they threw back drinks in beat with the music. Addie held onto Cedric and looked at him like he was the only person in the room. The potion was strong, she couldn't remember anything before sitting in the Hospital bed, all she remembered was being with Cedric. He was there for her, he made sure she was all healed, she loved him. Fred was laughing loudly with Lee and George by the fire, his back turned to the entrance where Addie stood. His laugh rang in her ears but it didn't have an effect on her like it usually did. Any feelings for Fred were heavily masked by the desperate lust for Cedric. Her love for Fred was a hazy memory in the back of her mind, when she saw him all she could see was a friend, nothing more.
Addie was unknowingly trapped, her thoughts consumed by Cedric. He was all she could think about; his gray eyes, brown flowing hair, and broad shoulders. Cedric led her through the crowd of students to where a group of his friends were standing. He greeted them as they gave him bizarre looks as to why he was with Addie. Before anyone could ask them, Cedric dismissed Addie to get drinks.
"Adelaide, my dear, why don't you go and get yourself a drink, hmm? I'll wait right here for you." He gave her a reassuring grin as she nodded, leaving the group.
"Uh, Ced? I thought Addie wanted nothing to do with you, and now you're here... together?" asked his friend Luke in almost a whisper, as to not let anyone else hear.
"Well... we talked for a while and she decided that she wanted to be with me."
"Wait, so she broke up with Weasley?"
"Not yet... but she will soon." Cedric gave a devilish grin, enjoying the though of Addie breaking up with Fred.
Addie walked over to the drink table where she ran into Angelina who was mixing drinks with Katie Bell.
"This is a great party Ads!" Angelina shouted over the music that was loudly playing next to them. Addie looked to Angelina who was gently smiling at her across the table, she had a vague memory of earlier in the day when she was setting up the lights but she couldn't quite remember exactly what happened.
"Uh thanks... Angie." Addie turned to walk away to head back to Cedric, she felt lost. When she looked around she saw familiar faces followed by vague memories. When Addie looked over the crowd of people she found herself making eye contact with Lee. She gave him a slight grin before returning to her conversation with Cedric. Cedric held her around the waist and placed gentle kisses on the top of her head, showing everyone that she was his. She loved his attention, her mind forgetting the party going on around her, to her it was just them two.
Lee leaned in closer to Fred to direct his attention behind him, he pointed directly at Addie before Fred quickly turned around. His mouth dropped almost instantly at the sight of Cedric holding her, kissing her.
Fred could feel his body heat up with anger, as his eyes fixed on Cedric.
"What the fuck?" He said, handing his half empty drink to George before walking over to where Addie was.
Addie's arms were wrapped around Cedric's neck, his hands holding onto her hips. She stayed attached to him, just admiring him. She was so entranced that she hardly noticed that Fred was walking towards them. When Fred reached them he grabbed Addie's arms and pulled her towards him placing her behind his body like a shield.
