Addie looked at her clock next to the bed and realized that it was lunch time. She usually wouldn't have bothered to go down to the Great Hall but she promised her brothers that she would met up with them. Scotty wanted to eat lunch together everyday, especially because they all had very different schedules. He wanted to be able to catch up and hang out without having to complicate things. Last year he barely saw Addie and he missed her, so the family all agreed to sit down and have a meal together.

She was a little late to lunch so she tried to hurry up the stairs before she missed too much. She was in a surprisingly okay mood after what happened with Fred that morning. Maybe it was because she was still riding the high of smacking Fred across the face, or because she was going to see her brothers and forget all about Fred. She walked through the doors of the Great Hall to see her brothers sitting at one of the tables laughing. There was someone with them. She couldn't make out who it was till she got closer to them. She got to the table and sat down. It was Cedric.

"Hey Adelaide!" Scotty grinned, "Diggory, here, was just telling us about his first time playing quidditch and how he couldn't stay on his broom."

"Keep in mind that I was 7 at the time and the broom was way to big for me to be riding! I couldn't feel my ass for a week due to how many times I fell. But now look at me! I'm the best player in the whole school" Cedric laughed while flashing a wink at Addie. The boys continued to argue about who was the best player and why. Addie was curious as to why Cedric was sitting with them, he had never asked her about her brothers before and now he was laughing with them like they were old friends. Addie noticed that Charlie wasn't talking in the group and that he was just pushing his food around his plate.

"Hey Charlie, everything okay bud?" she asked softly so that only he could hear.

He looked up at her slowly to reveal that he had a black eye and a bruised lip. "Oh my Gosh Charlie!" She grabbed his face to examine it further. "What happened? Who did this to you?" She smacked Scotty in the arm for not saying anything to her when she got there. "Scotty? Uh why didn't you say anything?"

"He's fine Ads! Its just a black eye, everyone gets one at least once in their life."

Addie turned to Charlie waiting for his explanation. "SO? Tell me what happened Charles!"

"Addie I really am fine okay? Crabbe and Goyle were picking on Malcolm Baddock for having a blanket from home. So I told 'em to shove off and to leave him alone. So they called me a Mudblood and punched me in the face. They're just idiots." Charlie returned back to playing with the food on his plate.

"You have to tell a teacher Charlie, okay? They shouldn't get away with that. They're fourth years, they shouldn't be beating on first years." She grabbed his face again.

Charlie looked up to her annoyed before pulling his face out of her grasp. "No, I'm not going to tell anyone, that's just going to make things worse for us."

Addie sighed, "Fine, but the next time they touch you, you let Scotty know and he'll deal with them." Scotty nodded in agreement. Even though Crabbe and Goyle were a year older than him, Scotty was bigger. He was more lean than them from working out and playing quidditch for 2 years. They continued to talk about their morning classes and the classes they had the rest of the day. Scotty was in the middle of talking about quidditch when he turned to Cedric, "Oh hey, I know were not playing quidditch this year but Fred and George want to play and practice for fun, Do you want to join us? I'm sure that if you brought some guys from your team we could have a good scrummage. Addie you could come to! I have an extra broom you could use, and I don't think Fred would mind." Scotty was beaming at her hoping that she would say yes.

"Oh uh, no. I'm okay. I think I'm just going to go to the Library and work on some homework." she said trying not to look suspicious.

"Homework? Its the first day of classes? We never get homework on the first day of classes? You love quidditch! Also Fred's going to be there, did I not say that?" Scotty looked around to the others in confusion.

"No no, you did mention that he was going to be there. I just don't want to play, okay?" She snapped back at him. Scotty and the twins looked at each other, and then back at her. Addie was trying to hide back tears when they all looked at her. She didn't want to tell them that she was no longer friends with Fred, or that he called her a whore on the stairs while people were walking by. Scotty and Fred were close because of the team and their house, she didn't want to ruin that for him. She didn't want this to be a big deal and cause drama for their two families. Just as she was contemplating on what she was going to say Cedric opened his mouth. "She doesn't want to see Fred anymore. He called her a whore today on the stairs, the whole school is talking about it."

Scotty's eyes went wide. Addie hid her face in her hands, she couldn't believe that Cedric just told them and on top of that the whole school was talking about it. "What? He called you a whore? What for?" Scotty was furious. Cedric continued, "He's jealous that Addie spent time with me last year studying for our OWLs, instead of spending time with him." Addie looked at Cedric in astonishment, she couldn't believe that he was just saying all of this so casually.

"I'm going to kill him." Scotty stood up from the table and left the Great Hall before Addie had any say. The twins gave Addie a hug before heading off to their next class, leaving her and Cedric alone at the table. Cedric had her all to himself in that moment. He slid over to her on the bench and put his are around her in a comforting motion. "What the hell Cedric?" She snapped at him, throwing his arm off of her. "Why did you tell them? I wasn't going to tell Scotty, he's really good friends with Fred." her eyebrows were furrowed, he back up from her and grabbed her hand. "Hey, I'm Sorry. I didn't mean to intrude, really. I just felt bad that Fred had treated you that way and Scotty had a right to know. I care a lot about you Addie. I couldn't stop thinking about you over the summer. I really like you. I know last night was a total disaster, and I take full blame." He looked at her with his gray eyes. When he looked at you, you felt like the only person in the room. He was very attractive, a lot of girls would have died to be in this type of situation with him. He was normally very quiet, but she had seen him break loose and he was more energetic around her. He was rubbing her hand and Addie was lost in his eyes. He was addictive. She could remember how he made her feel last year. When he kissed her last year butterflies filled her body. His lips were soft but his hands were rough to the touch. She could remember one specific night with Cedric. It replayed in her mind quite often.

** "Cedric, c'mon! I need to study for my exam tomorrow. Its half of my grade!" She giggled while Cedric was holding her hand in his kissing her knuckles, his eyes never left hers. She felt her body heat up at his touch. It was intoxicating. "Okay. we can take a quick 5 minute break." Addie threw her quill on top of her book before climbing into Cedric's lap. He looked into Addie's eyes before brushing her hair behind her back. Her lips crashed onto his as she ran her fingers through his soft brunette hair. He placed his hand on the back of her neck pulling her closer to him deepening the kiss. He softly bit the bottom of Addie's lips sending lightning to course through her veins. She moaned at his touch. She could feel his hand let go of her neck and travel down to the small of her back. His other hand was rubbing up and down her thigh. The kiss became more passionate as their tongues intertwined. Their breathing became more aggressive as their hands wandered exploring more of their bodies. Addie could feel Cedric become more aggressive and his his hand found its way up her shirt. They stopped and stared at each other for a brief moment trying to catch their breath when they heard someone coming down the steps behind them. She climbed off his lap sat next to him acting like nothing happened.

That was the last time that her and Cedric kissed before summer break. She never talked about it with him because later that night Fred snuck to her room and spent the night with her like usual, and she couldn't help feeling guilty leading Cedric on.

In this moment in the Great Hall with Cedric she remembered what drew her to him in the first place. "Its okay Cedric I forgive you. And I'm sorry for not responding to your letters this summer. I was really busy taking care of my brothers, I didn't write back to anyone." Addie looked at her watch and realized that she was going to be late for potions. She said goodbye to Cedric and as she was leaving the table he grabbed her hand and kissed her middle knuckle. She felt her face turn red as he winked. In that moment she knew that he remembered that night too, and he wasn't about to let her forget it either.
