"Addie get up! You're going to miss your classes this morning!" yelled Ruby as she was grabbing her books off the shelf. Addie groaned uncovering her face from the blankets. Her eyes were blood shot from crying most of the night. She had hoped that it was just a bad dream and everything was alright between her and Fred, but it wasn't. "Ugh, I don't want to go to classes today Ruby! I don't want to leave my bed for the rest of my life!" She exclaimed tossing her blankets back over her head. "C'mon Ads, don't you have free period this morning? And didn't you tell Trelawney that you would come and help her with his class in the morning? You have to go!" Ruby strained as she ripped the blankets off Addie trying to help her out of bed. Addie finally sat up before looking at the clock next to her bed. "Shit" she mumbled under her breath as she stepped onto the cold floor to get ready for the day. Addie quickly put on her uniform and robes before looking in the mirror. Her hair was in a tangles mess from wallowing in her bed all night. She still had makeup on from the day before so she just licked her thumb before swiping it under her eyes to take off some of the mascara. She felt hungover even though she didn't have a drink last night. "Good enough" she whispered to herself in the mirror. She grabbed her shoes and walked out of her dorm room."Good morning Addie!" she heard come from behind her as she was trying to leave the common room. "Fuck." she groaned before turning around to see who it was. It was Cedric. He had been waiting for her on the couch all morning. When she realized who it was she rolled her eyes before turning around to walk out of the door. Cedric ran to catch up with her, grabbing her arm from behind to get her attention. "Addie, hey, uh... how are you?" he spoke softly. Addie pulled her arm out of his grip in annoyance. "Gee Cedric, if you had to guess, what do you think I'm going to say?" She looked at him, eyebrows furrowed. "Addie I didn't know that you and Fred were a thing okay?" He lied "I couldn't help myself last night, the serum made me say all of those things. Please forgive me." Her face relaxed, she had forgotten that everyone was affected by the Veritaserum last night. "Its okay Ced, I'll talk to you later okay? I have to get going, I'm running late to help Trelawney with her class."
After walking all the way across the Castle she finally made it to the North Tower where the Divinations classroom was located. She forgot how far away it was from everything and regretted telling Professor Trelawney that she would help her with her first class of the day. After climbing up all the flights of stairs and running down the corridor she made it to the trap door. She climbed the ladder and shut the door behind her. She took a moment to catch her breath before walking into the room. "Ah! Adelaide dear! Come! Come! I'm so glad you've made it!" Trelawney greeted Addie with a big hug before introducing her to the class. Addie walked over to a small table in the corner of the room to set her things down and take off her robes. "We should be so honored to have Miss Stewart here. She has so kindly and graciously agreed to help me this year during her free period!" Addie was in the middle of putting her hair in a ponytail when she finally realized which class this was. She froze, it was 6th year Gryffindor and Ravenclaw students. She didn't dare look around the classroom incase she saw Fred, especially after what happened last night. "Adelaide dear, could you please pass out the Palmistry charts to each table?" Trelawney said snapping Addie out of her train of thoughts. "Of course Professor, I would love too." Addie grabbed the charts out from the cupboard they were stacked in and started passing them around. As she was passing them around she stopped when he reached George, her only thought was that Fred had to be right next to him. They were always partners and they always took the same classes. She smiled at him before rushing to pass out the rest, making sure to skip over Fred.
After the class was given their charts they were supposed to practice reading their partners palms. Addie went to go sit down at her small desk and pulled out a book to read. Not a minute later she felt a shadow cast over her, she looked up and it was Roger Davies, Ravenclaw. "Um excuse me, Adelaide is it?" he said in a deep voice. She looked up and nodded at him. "I don't have a partner, Professor said to come and ask you to fill in until I get one." he blushed at her. Addie set down her book and followed Roger to his desk. He was sitting a row below the twins and a table to the right, Addie sat at the table closest to the wall. Some time went by and Addie had shown Roger how to read the chart in front of him. Addie excelled in Divinations, it was her favorite class, she even helped students after class with their homework last year. Trelawney noticed this and asked her to help during her free period.
"I'm a bit thick when it comes to this class." sighed Roger "I guess it means that I'm not in touch with my third eye." Addie laughed at this remark. "Hey its okay, Do you want to practice? You can read my palm if you'd like?" Addie stretched her had across the table to let him read it. He grabbed her hand and blew on it gesturing that it was dusty. Addie giggled when his breath landed on her palm. She looked up and saw Fred staring at her, jaw clenched and eyebrows furrowed. She brushed it off and continued talking to Roger.
"Well if I'm reading this correctly" Roger glanced up at Addie, "This is your head line?" he said unsure.
"Yes!" She exclaimed "What does it mean?" Addie glanced at Fred before focusing her attention back on Roger. He still had Addie's hand in his and he was running is pointer finger back and forth over the line. "Well its long so I think it means that you have a clear mind but sometimes overthink too much, you're smart, kind, and incredibly good looking." Roger added in the last part and it made Addie blush. "Thank you, you're too kind really." She said back at him rubbing the back of her neck. Just as she was about to compliment him back Fred stood up abruptly and his chair scraped against the hard wood making a loud screech. His hands were formed into a ball, his knuckles were white as snow. Addie couldn't help put look around, the rest of the class was now staring at Fred. "Sorry" he spoke up, "George said I was going to die young and I just thought that it was Bullshit." he sat back down in his seat and stared at Addie for the rest of the class period. Class was over and Addie went to her desk and gathered all of her things, Roger followed her. "Adelaide, Uh I was wondering if we could get together sometime and you could help me with homework for this class." He looked at her shyly, hoping she would say yes. "You can call me Addie, all my friends all me Addie. I think that's a great idea Roger, I would love to help you, just let me know." She beamed at him but noticed a certain red head watching her talk, "Excuse me Roger, I have to get going, I'll se you later though." She grabbed her things and started walking toward the trap door avoiding Fred who was waiting for her. She climbed down the ladder before walking down the empty corridor.
"Hey! Don't you walk away from me Adelaide!" Fred shouted chasing after her. He ran in front of her stopping her on the stairs. "Stop!" he yelled. He grabbed he by the arm and pulled her into him. Their faces were close, inches away from touching noses. His chest was pressed against hers, she could feel his muscles through his robes. If she wasn't mad at him she would have melted at how close they were. "So, hooking up with Cedric on your little study dates wasn't enough for you? huh? Now you're going after Davies? If I didn't know any better I'd say you were a whore." Fred smirked, locking eyes with Addie. Without even thinking she pulled her arm out from his grasp, raised her hand and smacked him across the face. "Don't call me that, EVER!" She pushed past him while he was still grabbing his cheek where she had hit him. "Fuck you Fred, I don't ever want to see you again!" She stormed off to her dorm where she stayed until lunch missing all the rest of her morning classes.
