Gryffindor Common Room

Addie waited, sitting on her trunk still in her dress, for the door of her small dorm room to open. She stared at it counting the minutes until Frankie and Ruby walked in, desperate to tell them what happened with Fred. Her foot tapped on the floor as she patiently waiting, she could hear their laughs coming from the stairs leading to their room. The door creaked open and Addie shot up. "Addie, hey how was-"

"I kissed Fred."

"WHAT!" All three girls screamed in unison, not worried that it was late in the night. Addie started to pace the floor around her friends, she put her hands to her head and ran her fingers through her hair. So many thoughts filled her head that it was almost impossible to pick one out. She stammered as her friends waited for an update as to what happened.

"Well? What happened? How did it happen?" The girls took turns asking Addie questions hoping that see would finally answer one. Their eyes widened when she plopped down on the floor next to them.

"We kissed and all could say was 'wow', I feel so stupid! We didn't even talk to each other after we kissed, he just walked me to the common room entrance and he kissed me on the cheek and then left. HE PROBABLY HATED IT AND THINKS IM A TERRIBLE KISSER!"

"Addie, back up, start from the beginning, how was it leading up to the kiss?" said Frankie trying to calm her down. "Tell us everything!"

"Well I was completely blown away with all of the candles and the snow falling down over us as we danced, it was magical, I felt like I was a princess. It was a dream come true honestly." She started to blush as the memory of being close to Fred entered her mind. "We danced and he told me he loved me and that he was never going to stop fighting for me. Then I told him I wasn't ready to be with him and then we kissed... and now that I think of it I must have totally thrown him off... how completely backwards, no wonder he didn't speak to me afterwards!" Addie threw her head into her hands, she was completely embarrassed.

"He told you he loved you again? What is this now? The third time he's told you that?" asked Ruby

"No, its been twice now, once when we were in the astronomy tower and then tonight."

"...And he told us the story of when he realized that he loved you, remember? So that makes it three..." reminded Ruby, but Addie didn't remember.

"What are you talking about Rue?"

"Remember? We were playing Jenga with the boys and Fred had to tell us his favorite memory and it was when you broke your elbow." She looked to Frankie to make sure that she hadn't gone mad. Addie let out a quiet giggle while she remembered that night two years ago. Then it hit her, she had gotten so drunk that night that she had completely forgotten what Fred said. The girls sat in silence before Addie spoke up.

"I need to go see him. I'm not going to be able to sleep unless I go and talk to him, I just hope he's in the common room, otherwise I have to try and climb up the stairs and I don't feel like sliding all night." Addie quickly changed out of her dress leaving it in a ball on the floor. She threw on her pajamas and hurried through the passageway to the Gryffindor common room. She didn't know what she was going to say to him all she new was that she needed to see him, now. She arrived at the hole behind the painting and slowly opened it, checking to see if she saw anyone in there. The coast was clear so she quietly stepped through the painting into the common room. She looked around for a sign of anything that could help her get up to Fred's dorm room, until she heard footsteps approaching. It was Neville, just coming back from the ball, his shoes hung around his neck and he was humming. He was just about to walk up the stairs when she whispered his name, he jumped looking around to see where it came from.
