Quidditch Pitch

Classes were over for the day and Addie was headed through the bridge to get back to the Hufflepuff common room. She couldn't help but notice the unusual amount of staring and whispering going on around her. It wasn't until she got to the courtyard and found Frankie and Ruby sitting on a bench, that she found out what was going on. "Hey guys." Addie set her books down next to them, they both turned around to look at her. "Why is everyone acting so weird today?" Addie asked hesitantly, she had a slight idea. "Addie, uh everyone is talking about you and Fred..." Frankie scrunched her nose, "Is it true that you slapped Fred on the divination staircase?" Addie rolled her eyes and pressed a finger to her temple in annoyance. The last time people even mentioned her name was because Fred and George charmed her shampoo to change her hair color every time she washed her hair. She walked around with different colored hair for a week until she was able to buy a new bottle in Hogsmeade. However that was 2 years ago and she didn't talk to Fred that whole week so he rarely pranked her after that.

"Yes, I slapped him. He called me a whore because I told Roger Davies that I would tutor him in Divination, which is what I am in that class for. I'm literally the TA, he got jealous for no reason. So I told him I never wanted to see him ever again" Frankie and Ruby were baffled. They knew that the three of them were best friends, but it could never compare to her relationship with Fred.

"Wow I can't believe he said that to you, that just seems super uncharacteristic of him" Ruby added.

"No he's always been the jealous type. That's why I never said anything about Cedric. Also I genuinely just thought we were friends so I didn't think he was going to confess his love to me." Laughed Addie.

The girls looked at each other in shock. "Wait, confess his love? He finally told you he liked you? When did this happen?"

Addie looked at them with narrowed eyes, "Yeah, last night after you guys left he told me he liked me, and that he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend. But he didn't say it in a romantic way to fix things. He laughed in my face while telling me. He told me to make me feel bad about Cedric."

"So then that's it? You guys are just done? Not even friends anymore? Asked Ruby

"Uh yeah. And Scotty is pissed. Cedric told him what happened and he stormed off. I know they're about to all play quidditch together so I bet that will be a shit show."

Addie was right. Scotty was pissed. He wasn't just going to let Fred get away with what he said to his sister. Fred and some of the team started setting up for the scrimmage waiting for the rest to show up. Finally, about 10 minutes later Scotty and the Hufflepuff team walked on the the field.

"Scotty!" Fred called out gesturing for him to come to the middle of the field. As Scotty got closer Fred saw who he was with. "You brought Cedric? I told you to bring anyone but why would you bring him?"

"What Weasley?" Cedric chimed, "Can't handle a little competition?" He winked at Fred trying to egg him on. He knew he wasn't talking about quidditch and that made Fred even more mad. He wanted to punch Cedric in the moment but held back, not wanted to get kicked off the pitch. The rest of the Gryffindor team showed up and George brought his table partner from Potions to play as well. Scotty volunteered to play on the Hufflepuff team for the game to even out the teams. Fred watched as Scotty walked over and gave Cedric a high five before mounting his broom. Something felt off but Fred was to mad at Cedric to focus on Scotty.

"Fred. Don't lose your cool okay. We're just playing for fun. Just forget about Cedric." George patted him on the shoulder before lifting off the ground.

The games started and the Bludgers were released and the Quaffle was put into play. The snitch flew off and Harry and Cedric followed close behind. Scotty played Beater instead of chaser like he normally would. Scotty was determined to knock Fred off his broom. Every time the ball came close to Scotty he aimed for Freds head. "Oi, what the hell mate? Are you trying to kill me?" Fred scream in Scottys directing, but he ignored him and continued to play. After about an hour of playing Cedric flew next to Scotty, yelled something at him and flew off in the opposite direction. Fred was coming in hot behind Scotty hoping to catch up with him and ask him what's wrong. He had just about caught up to him when Scotty turned around and knocked into him. Fred lost his grip on his broom and started to lose balance, he was still pretty high up when he saw Scotty aim a bludger in his direction. The bludger made contact with Fred hitting him in the chest and knocking him off his broom. He fell about 30 feet before hitting the ground below. Everyone saw this and scramble to the ground to check on Fred.
