By some miracle Addie made it onto the train just before 11 o'clock hit. If it wasn't for a 3rd year showing her how to get through the barrier she probably would have missed the train. She looked around to see if she knew anyone to sit with on the train. Not to her surprise she didn't see anyone familiar, not even the twins. "Maybe they went to the school a different way." She thought. As she walked down the trains corridor she saw a cabin that was empty. She took a seat alone, she felt sorry for herself because she didn't know anyone and she didn't have any friends. It was 5 minutes till the train was scheduled to leave.
The cabin door slid open and a young girl stood in the door way. "Hello, can I sit with you?" She said with a nervous smile. She was small and petite. She had short black hair that stopped just below her chin. She was already in her school robes and had a small colorful bag in her right hand. "Yeah sure." Addie replied as she gestured towards the bench across from her. The girls sat in silence for a while both afraid to speak up. Addie looks from the window and stared at the girl. "Hi. I'm Addie" she said catching the girl off guard. "Oh uh hi. I'm Ruby, Ruby Carter."
The girls talked for a while getting to know each other and laughing. Both girls were muggle born and this whole experience was knew to both of them. They talked about how they were scared and excited at the same time. Ruby was an only child and she talked about how she wished she had siblings. A couple hours had passed when they heard a loud bang followed by loud screams. They both jumped at the sound to scared to look out of the cabin to see what it was. Not a minute later 2 boys ran and opened their cabin door panting and slamming it shut. "Yeah!" The boys yelled at each other as they met in a high-five laughing amongst themselves. "We better hide in here before those 4th years find us and hex us!" One of the boys said in a out of breath voice. Just then they both tired around and realized that they weren't alone.
"Oh shit" the boys said.
Addies eyes lit up as she recognized the two boys to be Fred and George.
"Addie!" Fred said with excitement in his voice. "Hey! We thought this cabin was empty but we're glad to see you!" Fred and George shook their head in agreement. "Mind if we hide in here with you guys?" George said "We let off a stink bomb in some 4th years cabin. They weren't happy so we ran."
"Yeah of course!" Ruby said just before Addie could get the words out.

All 4 of them talked for a while, excited to be heading to Hogwarts. "Is this your first year at Hogwarts?" Ruby said to the twins. "No. Our second!" The boys said in unison. "We're in the Gryffindor house, what house do you think you'll be in?" The boys asked. Both Addie and Ruby looked to each other and them back at the boys. "Houses? What are houses? What is Gryffindor? Are we supposed to know what house were in?" Addie asked. The boys laughed. "Wait! You guys are both muggle born! You don't know what houses are? That's okay!" Said George with a kind tune in his voice. "Well there are 4 houses. Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff." The boys went on to describe all the houses and what each house represents. "We're in Gryffindor and that's the best house at Hogwarts." Fred said with a wink.

The train finally came to a stop and everyone was directed to get off the train and to follow directions. When Addie and Ruby got of the train they heard a deep and loud voice calling out "First years. All First years! Please follow me to the docks! First years!" Addie's mouth dropped open. A Giant of a man holding a lantern was calling out to all first years. He had tattered clothes and long hair and a long shaggy beard. "First years this way please! C'mon down to the docks the lot of you!" Addie didn't dare disobey. She followed the line of first years down to the docks to be loaded into boat. Self rowing boats. She couldn't believe her eyes. It had been the first day of Hogwarts and she was already blown away and how magical the day had gone. Just before she thought it couldn't get any better a castle appeared in the distance.

The boats floated closer to the castle and Addie felt like she couldn't breath. The Castle glimmered and looked to have a halo of light around it. It was beautiful. She couldn't believe that she was going to live and learn magic in such a magical place. She didn't know what she expected when she thought of Hogwarts but this was beyond anything she could have ever imagined. She never wanted to leave and she hadn't even been inside the school. She felt warm and tingly like her heart was whole. Nothing could ever make her sad knowing that she was going to be studying here. She couldn't wait to tell her family about it either. She felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
