Veritaserum

The day after the second task the Daily Prophet had come out with an article about Cedric, but it wasn't just about him winning the tournament. Rita Skeeter had taken a photo of Addie and Cedric on the shore when he pulled her into him to try and kiss her. The photo had been taken at a side angle, so it looked like they were kissing in celebration of his win. Addie couldn't believe that she was on the cover with Cedric, if Fred hadn't been there to see what really happened she would have felt much worse. 

When she was walking to Divinations, a couple boys from her house made kissing noises at her when she walked by. She just rolled her eyes and kept walking until she heard a voice calling her name. 

"Addie! Please don't ignore me! I need to talk to you!" It was Cedric, he had seen the paper too and he wanted to clear the air. "Adelaide, please, it will only be a minute." She reluctantly turned around to face him, he had the paper in his hand and he was fixing his hair after running after her. 

"Hi, uh, so listen, about yesterday... I didn't know cameras were there..." 

"What do you mean you didn't know cameras were there?" She looked at him angrily, "Its literally the Triwizard tournament. If you didn't think cameras were going to be there then you're an idiot... So you're already a cheater, do you want to be a liar too..." She stared at him in awe.

"Addie, I didn't cheat on you! Cho lied." He tried to grab her hand but she pulled it out of his reach. 

"Really? So you didn't sleep with Cho after the Yule Ball or before the party?" she asked in a slight mocking tone. She could see that Cedric become flustered at her question, and it made her more angry. "That's what I thought-" 

He reached out and grabbed her by her arms, holding her so she couldn't move. "Look, yes I did sleep with her after the Ball, okay? But I didn't sleep with her while we were dating, I wouldn't hurt you like that. I love you Addie, that's why you were in the water and not Cho."

Addie squirmed in his clutch, he was holding onto her really tightly, she could feel his nails digging into the skin on the back of her arms. His eyes were darker than normal and he was breathing rather fast. "Addie you have to believe me."

"Cedric, I do believe you." He sighed at her words loosening his grip. "However if you really loved me, you wouldn't have slept with Cho at all... How dare you, honestly." Cedric tightened his grip again and began pulling Addie down the hall behind him. "Let me go!" She screamed as he pulled her into the Hufflepuff common room. He pushed her down on the couch and ran to his room. When he came back he had a small bottle in his hand that was filled with clear liquid. When he got back to where Addie was he took a seat on the coffee table across from her, he then took the lid off the bottle and took a small swig. "Your turn." he offered as he handed the bottle her direction.

"No, I'm not drinking whatever that is." she hissed causing him to let out a chuckle. He then quickly got off the table and sat next to her. "Its Veritaserum, drink it. We need to clear the air about what's going on." He held the bottle out in front of her, motioning for her to take it. She reached up and snatched it out of his hand. "Fine, I'll drink it, but you have to leave me alone after it. Got it?" He shook his head in agreement and she took a sip from the bottle. "Where did you even get this anyway?" she asked wiping the remaining liquid off her lips. "I made it." 

A few moments had past and Cedric got up to put the bottle back in his room, Addie thought about leaving but Cedric was fast, he would easily be able to catch her if she ran. A couple of minutes had passed before Cedric came back into the room. He had changed out of his robes into Pajamas. 

"Okay, Adelaide, Ask me a question." He looked at her seriously with his grey eyes, they had gone back to the normal grey she was used to. 

"Did you cheat on me with Cho, before the party?" she asked hoping that he was lying.
