It was the day of the Yule Ball and everyone spent the day hanging out and getting ready for the dance. Fred and George spent their morning running around giving people grief and pranking first years. The twins made their way to the Hufflepuff Common room to hang out with the girls as they got ready. Ruby and Frankie were up in their room dancing around and listening to music, getting more and more excited as the time crept closer to eight o'clock. Addie was dancing with them and singing forgetting the sad feeling that had been overwhelming her the past month. They girls were soon met with a forceful knock on the door which slightly scared them. Addie went over to the door to open it, curious to who it could have been. She was slightly surprised when she laid her eyes on two tall ginger boys with candy and other treats in their hands.
"How did you guys get through the door?" she wondered as they had never went through it before.
"Easy!" chimed the boys in unison "You guys might want to change your password to something more difficult, having to knock to the rhythm of Helga Hufflepuff isn't exactly genius." laughed Fred as he sat down on Addie's bed. She closed the door behind them and took a seat in the lounge chair at the door. "Aren't you supposed to be getting ready for the dance?" she asked, giving the twins both the same questioning look. "We will, it takes us about ten minutes to get ready unlike you girls who take hours of prepping and pampering." George laughed as he picked up one of the girls mascaras acting like he was putting it on his eyes. "So then you just came here to bother us as we get ready?" The twins looked and each other and smiled. "Yes."
It was an hour before the ball was supposed to start and the boys had annoyed them so much that Frankie almost jinxed George with the Jelly-legs curse to get him to shut up, so they left shortly after. Frankie and Ruby had just finished getting ready when they turned to Addie who was sitting on her bed reading a book. "Your turn Ads." she looked at them as they walked toward her. "Lets go, get up, were going to help you get ready for the the ball." Addie shook her head, "No, no. I told you guys I'm not going, plus I don't have a date."
"We got you a date so now you have to come, plus your mom sent you the most stunning dress, you have to go!" The girls grabbed her arms pulling her up from the bed. She didn't put up much of a fight against them, all she had to do was sit there while they did her hair and makeup. "Who is my date?" she asked as the girls scrambled around the room to grab the things they needed. "You'll see" Ruby answered with a smirk that made Frankie laugh out loud. They got her ready in a timely fashion with the help of some magic, "Its a good thing you showed this morning or this wouldn't have gone as well." laughed Frankie as she was putting the finishing touches of Addie makeup on.
"Guys really, who did you force or bribe to be my date? Don't tell me its one of the Slytherin boys you have been hanging out with."
"ADDIE! Shush! You'll see when we get there okay? Just let us do something nice for you! I promise you'll like him. He's really handsome, smart, and funny. You're going to get along great." boasted Frankie as she pulled away to admire her work. "Lovely! take a look!"
Addie walked up to the long mirror in their room and she was blown away. Her dress was breathtaking, her mom did such a good job picking it out for her. She felt like a woodland fairy, her hair was down but Ruby had placed little pearl pins throughout her hair. After a month of feeling like the world was ending she felt her spirit lighten when she saw herself like this. Her worries about the night quickly faded, she engulfed her friends is a long hug crying about how beautiful they made her. After they all hugged it was time to go to the dance. The three girls inter locked arms as they walked down the corridors to the Great Hall. Frankie and Ruby ran into their dates and greeted them in warm hugs. Addie stood waiting for them to introduce her to her date but they never did, she became more nervous. She pulled Ruby to the side to ask her where her date was, Ruby looked around the corridor before a large grin filled her face as she pointed behind her. "He's right there." Addie turned around and her jaw dropped when she saw who it was.
