Sam's POV:
After forcing myself to close the door, I slide my back down on the wall. I tried so hard to resist kissing him on the lips and I almost failed. I guess kissing him on the cheek is better than nothing. And now that I think about it, I'm happy I made that "deal" with him.
I probably sit there for a solid twenty minutes before realizing I'm still in real life. All I can think about is Toby. Spending time with Toby, joking around with Toby, kissing Toby. And its all dreams going through my head. This will never happen. Were just friends and this will just make it awkward. And besides, who says he feels the same way about me?
I get up and go to the closet, still full of clothes from Jen's grand daughter. It turns out me and who ever this girl is have around the same body type so most of her clothes fit. Even though its weird to wear someone else's clothes with out even knowing them, I'm very thankful and I wear them anyway. I take a shower, brush my teeth, and slip into bed. Not once did I let my mind think about anything else other than Toby.
**************************************
When I wake up, its nine o clock. That's the longest I've ever slept in for a solid month, so I feel great. The want for more sleep is still there, but I better not push it.
I get dressed into a pair of skinny jeans that fit perfectly and I grab a fitted sweatshirt from the closet. It feels good to wear the clothes I've worn like every other day of my life before my music career. I fix up my hair and brush my teeth before heading downstairs. I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing right now and I have no idea where to go so I'm hoping to run into one of the guys.
Since my leg is feeling a lot better today, I take the stairs. I head first to where we were yesterday, and when no one is there, I head to the kitchen. I find Jen, Robert, and Kenny but none of the boys are to be seen. "Hey, have you seen the boys?" I ask them. Kenny looks up from his breakfast with a look on his face but doesn't say anything. Rob shrugs his shoulders and Jen says,"Have you tried the basement? We have a recording studio down there."
Oh wow... "Oh okay. Thank you!" I say and I walk out to find the basement. I have no clue where the basement is, but I'm not asking Kenny or Rob where it is, thats for sure. And Jen looked a little busy with whatever she was doing.
I spend a couple of minutes walking around before I hear a faint sound of music coming from a door at the end of the hall. I open it and walk down the stairs slowly, hoping to hear one of their voices before I get to the bottom.
I recognize Riley's voice when they begin to play Soldier. I've heard the song multiple times before but I've never memorized the words, so I've never really listened to what the lyrics were saying until now.
Its a very powerful and moving song. It kind of chokes me up by the time they hit the chorus. By the time I get to the bottom, they are singing the chorus once more. I turn the corner and I find Toby and Connor playing guitar while Riley walks back and forth singing.
They notice me but they keep on playing. I take a seat next to Connor on the couch and when I look and lock eyes with Toby, he smiles while singing and it makes me smile and blush a little too.
They finish their song and I clap slowly, pretending to be stunned. "Beautiful. I've never really listened to the lyrics till now though." I say.
Riley laughs a little and says, "Thanks. Now why don't you grab a guitar or hop on the piano and join us."
"They've got a piano?" I get super excited when there's an actual piano, not just a keyboard. "Right behind you goldfish." Toby says. I turn and I see the nicest piano I've ever seen, and now I get to play it. "Yes!! Total score guys!" I jump off of the couch and run\skip over to the piano. I take a seat behind it and before I play I say,"Promise you'll drag my butt out of here if I say I won't leave this beautiful creation?"
