Toby's POV:
We have no way of telling time. We kind of just assume its been three hours, which is pretty dangerous for our side. Since were all sitting here begging for this to be over, times going by slower and slower, making the three hours longer.
Sam knows I'm stressed and I know she is. She has me lay down with my head in her lap and it actually does calm me. Her fingers play with my hair and I just lay and stare up at her perfect face. The way she bites her lip every once in awhile let's me know that shes nervous too.
Once she looks down at me and we lock eyes. Her gaze is captivating and I can't look away. Its not like I want to. She's the only thing that's keeping me together at this point.
Your probably wondering why I'm thinking about how perfect sam is at this very bad point in time. Well to be honest I can't bear to think of what's happening to my brother. And grace. The best thing for me to do is be distracted until its time to get out of this thing. And Sam's the perfect distraction.
With her staring down into my eyes, I desperately want to lean up and kiss her to death. But, you know, we have Andrew, Rhian and Lucy, and an immature brother of mine in the room with us. So I can't. Plus, I don't know why, but no one has ever seen us kiss before. Like actually kiss. Not forehead kisses. So it may be awkward on my part.
But god I can't handle myself. Its like I'm totally mentally unstable with everything that's going on. I sit up quickly and lean on my hand towards her. She looks at me, wondering what I'm doing and then laughs a little.
"What?" I ask. She moves her hands up to my hair and runs her fingers through it a couple of times. "Oh, you ruining my hair?" I whisper sarcastically.
"Sorry," she says softly smiling.
"Nah, I enjoyed that." I say and wink at her. She hates when I flirt with her so I do it to annoy her.
She turns red and pushes my face away with her hand. "Stoop." She whines, whispering.
"Oh come on, admit it. You love my hair." She rolls her eyes and looks away. "Yeah you do. I know it. You don't even have to say anything." I see the corners of her lips turn up. "See your smiling. You love it. Say its the best hair you've ever seen."
"Toby, I love your hair. Its the best hair I've ever seen." She says looking plainly into my eyes.
"Say it like you mean-" She leans forward and kisses my lips before I can finish my sentence. She pulls away just enough to talk.
"I love you. Not your hair. Although your hair's pretty nice..." I laugh and kiss her lips again. I get two seconds of a perfect kiss before she pulls away.
"You know there's a five year old in here..." She says.
"So?"
"Toby!" She whispers and hits me on the arm.
"Fine. But were finishing this later."
"Maybe."
"Maybe?"
"Maybe."
"Not fair. Its not my fault were stuck down here." I say changing to a serious tone. "How much longer anyway?"
"I don't know. It should be soon. We've been down here forever." She looks over at Andrew who sits leaned up against the wall next to Rhian who looks asleep, playing with something in his hands. Then over to Connor, who sits with a blank stare while Lucy lays sleeping in his arms.
I stare at him for awhile. I know he thinks its his fault, but it isn't. Its none of our faults. Its still hard for me to believe but I've been hiding it and thinking about other things. But he, he's been sitting there for the last how many hours thinking of god knows what. Bringing himself down.
