Riley's POV:

I'm actually starting to get used to the snow. But the cold air is another issue. I guess I didn't really think about how cold I actually was until we came inside dripping wet in snow.

The sun sets early, and although it isn't late, its pitch black out. The fireplace lights up the room in replacement of the lights. I guess with all that's going on, they need to conserve it. But I don't mind. A warm cozy fire is more relaxing.

After sharing our story, Sam and Rhian leave to go upstairs, leaving us guys in the living room. Andrew asks us if we want to go to the basement with him and play video games, and we happily agree.

We all get along with Andrew pretty well. It turns out, he loves our kind of music and although he doesn't pursue music as his career, he's always wanted to get involved. But he said his brains won. As a senior in highschool, he received a full ride scholarship to Harvard. I can't imagine anyone being able to do that, especially me.

At one point the doorbell rings and we all stop what were doing. Andrew gets up immediately and slips upstairs. We follow him silently.

When we get to the top, we hide behind the door. From where we are in the main hallway, we can see upstairs perfectly and we can also see the front door. Sam and Rhian peek out from behind a wall and they look as clueless as we do. But they cant see like we can. Andrew gives them a stay there look and they nod.

He turns and whispers to us. "Follow me. There's only one guy from what I can see, but I don't want him thinking I'm alone. They probably just need a phone or something." We nod and he turns and walks into the main hallway with us behind him.

The porch lights flicker on and a young guy turns his head and faces the door. He doesn't look dangerous but from what I've learned from these past few weeks, he could be a ninja for all I know.

Andrew opens the door and surprises me. "What are you doing? You know you can't be here." He says in a serious tone.

"That's not what I came-"

"I don't care. You can't be here." Andrew insists.

"And who says that?" The guy says in a tone that's asking for trouble. He opens the door and invites himself in. Now I can see that he is in fact, a huge guy. He towers over Andrew in size and weight, although they are around the same height. But if they were to fight for some reason, I'd bet on the mysterious guy.

"Oh you know, that form you got from the police. The restraining order. Now get out." What? Restraining order...

I look at Connor and Toby, just as clueless and worried as I am.

"Listen, I don't want trouble. I just want to see Sam. I think you know the reason why..." He says looking around the house in search for her. "And nows the perfect time to do so. No ones here except a few lousy teenagers."

"Have you been spying on us?" Andrew asks. I can sense some things going to happen. I tense up when Andrew takes a step closer to the guy.

"I've been doing my research. Now, where Sam? I want to see her." He orders.

"If you think for a minute that your going to be able to see her you must be out of your mind."

"You know I could flatten you within seconds right?" The guy threatens.

"Oh, believe me I know. You already showed me that on my sister. Your not doing that again."

With that I look at Toby. His face is shocked and it looks like he wants to beat the crap out of him. I do to. I think we all do. Whatever this guy did to Sam to earn himself a restraining order, he deserves it.

"She deserved that! You know what she did to me!" He yells.

"You know what you did to her!"

The guy takes a step and shoves Andrew in the chest. "I didn't do a thing! Now where is she!" We all take a step toward him.

"Don't touch my brother Zach."

Rhian steps off the last stair and folds her arms. I take a step closer to her in case this Zach guy gets any ideas. "Get out. Now." She tells him.

"I'm not leaving until I set things straight with Sam."

"Is your definition of setting things straight include beating her? Cause you were quick to do that last time."

"You little-" he takes a couple steps toward Rhian and before he can get to her, I grab his shoulders and spin him around, pushing him toward the door. He has a couple of inches on me so he kind of intimidates me when he turns around and looks down on me.

Before I know it, his fist is coming at me, but I duck it and kick him in the shin. Then I push him back against the door. Andrew comes to my side and takes a step toward him, enough to make him angrier.

He pushes him back and Rhian runs to his side after he slams against the wall. I take my advantage and grab his arm and force it behind his back. Toby and Connor grab his other arm, but in our seconds of misfocus, he yanks his arm free and moves a couple feet down the hallway.

He looks up at us then, as if something caught his eye, he looks to his right up the staircase.

In one swift movement, he moves up three stairs and reaches behind the wall. We all run to the stairs and before we can stop him, he has her pinned against the wall. Sam is already crying, her face full of pain and fear. He punches her in the stomach and she slides down the wall slowly. Before we tear him away from her, he hits her in the face; hard.

Andrew and Toby are the first ones to grab him along with Connor. Once he's off of her I run up to her and, without even thinking, sweep her up into my arms. Rhian grabs me and leads me downstairs to the basement, locking the door behind her.

Sam's crying to the point where she's almost choking on her sobs. I hold her tight as I carry her down the stairs as fast as I can and keeping up with Rhian.

I follow her and when we get to a room, she opens the door and leads me inside. When the lights turn on, I see a well sized area with white walls that are covered in pictures, posters and stringed lights hanging from the ceiling.

I set her on the bed and stand in front of her while Rhian sits beside her. "He's gone Sam. He's gone." She says soothingly but it doesn't work; she keeps crying. Instead of words I engulf her in a tight hug.

I don't know who this guy was or what he wanted but if he hurt Sam, I hate him. I hold onto her while she cries and shakes. When I look to my side, I see Rhian with her head in her hands crying silently. I close my eyes to keep the tears from falling.
