Chapter 24

Connors POV:

"Keep your mouths shut." And Toby leaves.

Riley and I look at each other and laugh a little thinking, "oh my god that just happened." We sit on the floor for awhile until we catch our breath, and then still we stay silent and think to ourselves.

I was only kidding around with Toby and he knows that. I just hope we didn't take it too far, but I doubt we did. We would've found out sooner or later about them. I mean they can't hide forever, other wise they would have to do a better job of hiding themselves. I saw them walking back from Sam's bus today holding hands. And I heard Toby whisper to her before she went to bed.

"So what do you think?" Riley asks. That's actually a hard question...

"I don't know. I mean its great, but is Toby even ready for a girl?"

"Connor he's older than you think. He ages too ya know." Riley points out.

"Yeah but..." I don't know what to say.

"I feel the same way. He's our little brother and its weird to see him change right before our eyes, but it had to happen sooner or later. He just chose love sooner than we thought" Riley says laughing.

"Ya I guess so." I say. "And I think they're good for each other too. I mean Sam wasn't exactly having a thrill ride the past few weeks and you know Toby, he breaks down easily with stress. I guess they hold each other up."

"I guess they don't look too bad with each other either. If anything its cute." Riley says winking.

"Okay now your acting like a teenage girl." Riley gives me a look that says really? "Fine they look adorable together!!"

"Yeah but here's the thing, are they even together?" Riley brings up. "When I asked if they've kissed Toby didn't say a word. That can mean anything."

"Come on. You really think they haven't? And even if they have what makes you think they would tell anyone even if this whole situation wasn't even happening?"

Riley thinks before saying,"yeah that's true. And the fans. What would they think?"

I think we both realize how big of a thing this is now.

"Well our fans would understand right? Its not like Toby's leaving the band or anything. He's just dating a girl. And all those fangirls out there have to realize by now that he has a life outside of singing." I say.

"Yeah. But I think its up to Toby and Sam if they want to tell anyone." He pauses for a moment. "Well now I feel bad about making Toby tell us even though he didn't say a word."

"Are you kidding me! I feel great!" I laugh.

"Yeah well what if this is just a big misunderstanding? What if Toby only kissed her, I don't know, forehead or something and it isn't what we think it is?"

He stops with an idea. "But he did tell us to keep our mouths shut..."

"And I think we should Riley, really. This time I think Toby can handle this. If he needs anything he can come to us because now he knows we know about them, well if they are a "them"." I stand up and head for the door.

"Okay you keep your mouth shut too. And not a word to mom. She'll flip on how her baby boy's growing up too fast." Riley says." I nod my head as I open the door silently and slip out into the hall. I close the door and head two doors down the hall. Just as I'm closing my door, I hear Toby's door open and seconds later a knock on the door next to my room; the guest room.

I close my door and go to bed. I can't help but think about how this could turn out for any of us. Its so bittersweet to me knowing that Toby is in love. He hasn't told me that yet but I know. I so know.
