Six o'clock was approaching and I had finished getting ready. My outfit was already picked from last week when the unmentionable happened. This week everything was alright. I just got a text from Alec that said: On my way. That was good, right? It meant that there was no turning back. That this was going to happen and Natalia wouldn't get in the way. Alec and I were finally getting our hang out day and something may or may not happen. I'm hoping for the may, of course.
My clothes looked great, and my hair looked less messy. Damn, you did well, Cole. I walked over to my bed and grabbed my laptop and slid it under my bed. I plugged in my iPod and unplugged my phone. I walked over to the mirror and stared at my sunglasses for a second. Did I need sunglasses? Probably not. I walked over to my closet and found a black cardigan. I put it over my shirt in case I was to get cold. It didn't seem like it was going to give me much warmth, though. Perfect.
I stepped out of my room and closed the door. I got to the staircase and didn't see anyone. I walked down and found nobody. Where are my parents? I ran back upstairs and stood outside of my parent's door. I pressed my ear against the door and heard things that should never be heard. Found them. I felt my pocket vibrate. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and saw: Alec<3. I started walking down the stairs and pressed the "answer" button.
"Oh, hello," I answered trying not to sound like I was waiting by the phone.
"Hey," he said in a sad voice.
"You okay?" I asked.
"No. I'm sorry, Cole. I can't make it," he replied. I froze for a second.
"W-What?"
"Yeah, I am really sorry."
"Seriously?" I said almost crying.
"Ha, gotcha!" he laughed. I wiped away my almost tears and glared at the phone.
"That was so f'd up!" I yelled.
"Haha, I know. I'm sorry," he giggled.
"No. Never do that again! Stop laughing," I said starting to laugh. "I was seriously going to like stab you with a spoon!"
"Oh, so you wanted to spoon me?" he joked. Yes.
"No, shut up. You here?"
"I believe so. I parked in front of the dump."
"Why'd you go back home?" I countered.
"Damn, the claws are coming out. Just get out here already."
I smiled and hung up the phone. I had to check first if I had everything I needed. I had my phone, which was my life. I had clothes on, which was very important. Don't want to become one of them nudists. I ran back up to my room to get my keys. I probably didn't need them since my parents didn't believe in security, but I still wanted them.
I had everything I needed, and I exited the building. I locked the door and turned around to see the car Alec described as "ghetto." I guess where he came from, "ghetto" meant hot rod. He had a light blue convertible mustang. I walked over trying to not look like I was awestruck by the magnificence, which I was. He was sitting in the driver's seat looking cool, with his top off. Car top, that is.
"Nice wheels," I finally found something to say.
"It's alright. Pretty ghetto," he insulted the beauty once again.
"Yeah, I see these everywhere," I lied, trying to look cool. He laughed and I stood by the door staring at it. He stopped and looked at me. I looked up at him. I was just waiting. Ya know, to see if he would open the door for me.
