Who the hell was interrupting me? Alec opened his eyes. His face was still close to mine. I let go of him and turned over in the direction of where that voice came from. I didn't see anyone. I turned back to see Alec still standing there with an awkward look on his face. Aw, he was blushing.

"COLE!" I heard Amy yelling. She was getting close. I stepped a few feet away from Alec so that it wouldn't get even more awkward.

"COLE!" she yelled one last time as she turned past a tree to see Alec and me, alone. Her eyes widened. I was giving her the "GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!" look. All three of us were silent.

"We should be heading back soon," Alec finally broke the silence. We nodded and he started to walk towards Amy. I followed and Amy stopped me.

"We will catch up with you," she told him pushing me back in the direction that "it" almost happened in. He just smiled and walked back towards the park. Amy waited for him to be completely out of earshot. She turned around to me and had on a wide smile.

"What's your problem?" I asked pretending to have no idea what she was smiling for.

"What happened?" she replied with a question.

"You know. That bitch spilled her drink all over me and I ran away dramatically," I answered.

"Oh, that's great. Now what I really want to know is what just happened between you and Alec a second ago?"

"We saw you and we were going to walk back to the park, and then you stopped me and asked me a question."

"I would so slap you if I wasn't so excited for the possible answer that I'm hoping you would give to me."

"Fine. We almost kissed!" I squealed.

"Yayyyy!" Amy squealed back. "Wait, almost?"

"Yeah, there was just one problem," I glared.

"What?"

"It's a three lettered word. Starts with A and rhymes with Lamy."

"Me? What did I do?" she asked with an appalled expression.

"Our lips were this close to touching," I growled.

"I'm sorry, but I was too busy playing the part of the worried friend. You don't feel the need to say thank you for coming to see if you were okay? Fine, I guess I shouldn't have yelled at Natalia for being such a bitch. I should have given her a high five."

"I hate it when you're right," I finally uttered. She pulled me in for a hug.

"Hey, at least you know he likes you," she reassured.

"That proves nothing. Steve would pretty much hump anything, and he wouldn't have any feelings. He's a slut. Maybe Alec is to-"

"How dare you say that! Alec is a sweetheart. Never compare him to Steve like that!" Amy howled.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

"You need to change those clothes. I'll take you home. We can forget all about today," she smiled.

We exited the area and headed back to school. We had to walk through the park and by our peers. Our group was still sitting on the blanket. All of them went silent as Amy and I walked up to get our bags. I could feel all of their eyes on me. I'm guessing that they didn't know what to say.

We turned and continued walking back to school. I kept my gaze facing forward as we walked by Natalia's group. I could hear a roar of laughter start as we walked by. Amy grabbed my hand and led me out of the park.
