Alexandra and Marcel walked together down the compound stairs, into the main foyer. Most of the other vampires were already standing around waiting for Niklaus. Alexandra sent Diego a nod before moving to sit at one of the tables.

She picked up the bottle of whiskey and poured herself a glass. The pain and heartbreak of losing Davina finally catching up with her.
"Hey, Marcel, maybe you know what's going on. Klaus ordered us to meet here, and now he's a no-show." Diego explained standing up as Marcel walked past him and sat down in front of Alexandra.
"What do you want from me? It's a new regime. Get use to it." Marcel spoke back, no emotion in his voice. Alexandra leaned her hand over and placed it on top of his in comfort. Marcel looked at her and sent her a forced smile before Niklaus entered.
"Dearest brethren, your attention, please." Niklaus started. Everyone turned their heads and their eyes all widened seeing Thierry. "No doubt, you're all surprised to see Thierry Vanchure, who's supposed to be rotting in the Garden for the crime of killing one of our own, and I personally decided to issue him with a pardon. I hope you'll all welcome home Thierry." Niklaus smiled as Thierry walked forward hugging Diego tightly.
Niklaus walked over and leaned against the back of Alexandra's chair. "You're in a good mood. You should visit Mystic Falls more often." Marcel commented before raising his glass to his lips.
"Well, as much as I might like to, I have pressing responsibilities here." Niklaus replied before standing up straight again and looking over the other vampires. "Now, as you all know, the witch Davina is no longer with us. Without Davina, we can no longer monitor the activity of our witch neighbors. However, since their Harvest failed, their magic will soon be gone forever. Until then, I say we keep them on their toes. Diego, I wonder if you might lead a rousting in the cauldron." Niklaus expressed. Alexandra scoffed before Marcel grabbed the bottle of whiskey and started to leave, Niklaus following after him. Alexandra signed and picked up her own drink, and started to make her way up stairs only for Elijah to stop her.
"Are you-" Elijah started to ask but paused when Alexandra raised her hand to him, stopping him from completing his sentence. He raised his eyebrows at her confused but Alexandra just nodded before pushing past him, continuing up the stairs. Elijah's eyes followed her and watched as she continued to take long gulps from her bottle of alcohol. He wanted to comfort her, and be by her side but at the moment he had to speak to Rebekah.
Alexandra sat in the study playing around with her magic as she drank her sorrows away. A few moments past and Marcel walked in to join her. He sent her a soft smile before sitting down and pouring himself some bourbon.
"Your magic seems good." Marcel spoke calmly. Alexandra stopped her movements and looked towards him. She signed and nodded.
"For how long, I don't know." Alexandra replied before leaning back and picking up her bottle of whiskey again. They sat in silence before a new set of footstep walked into the room, disturbing them.
