As Alexandra pulled up to the front of the plantation, Elijah started to wake up. He blinked slowly as he gained consciousness. Almost immediately he looked to his side and noticed Alexandra before signing to himself.

"How are you feeling?" Alexandra asked as she put the car in park and pulled up the handbrake. Elijah looked out the window towards the plantation, noticing Hayley sitting outside.

"The fever has broken, although you sure know how to give a headache." Elijah replied with a light chuckle trying to rid the air of all the tension they both felt. "Quite the awkward little adventure, wouldn't you say? I'm sorry I tried to hurt you, I would never want that."

Alexandra thought to herself for a moment before deciding she wanted to know what happened to Celeste. "Elijah, tell me what happened to Celeste." Alexandra asked. Elijah paused and turned towards her.

"That's not important." Elijah stated and Alexandra looked at him with a pointed glare.

"It is important. Thousand years of memories and that's what breaks through your fever brain? I wanna know. Show me?" Alexandra asked again. Elijah signed and lifted his hand, placing it on the back of Alex's head. She closed her eyes drifting into Elijah's mind.

ELIJAH'S MEMORY:

They were again in the bathroom. A body laid in the bathtub under the water, dead. It was Celeste. Elijah had run into the room, and straight over to the bathtub. He lifted her body, not caring about the water as he laid his forehead against hers. That was when he let out a painful scream.

PRESENT DAY:

Alexandra was pulled out of his mind, Elijah slowly pulling his hand away from her head. "It was a cruel and bloody time to be a witch. Courtesy of my wonderful brother." Elijah explained, his eyes closing as he relived the horrifying moment.

"She died because of Klaus?" Alexandra stated although it was more of a question.

Elijah cut into her question hastily, "She died because of me. Because I cared too deeply for her. I had allowed my brother to slip through my grasp. I loosened the reigns while Celeste consumed my every moment. I had abandoned him in the name of my own happiness. Celeste payed the price." Elijah explained. Alexandra scoffed and shook her head.

"Sure Niklaus has abandonment issues, that's clear. Yet, I don't get it. Why are you trying to put together your family when it's so clear that one part of it is broken?" Alexandra asked letting go of the stirring wheel and rubbing her chin.

"To me, the very definition of the word "broken" suggests that something can be fixed." Elijah started before he turned his head to look Alex in the eye. "I have a whole eternity to accomplish one single task: My brother's salvation. If I surrender this, then tell me what value would I be to my family, to myself, to...to Hayley's child?" Elijah finished. Alexandra looked down for a moment and noticed Elijah's hand. She moved her arm and slowly rested her fingers on top of his. Elijah feels her hand on his and shakes his head. "Please, no, Alexandra. You've seen what happens."

He removes his hand from below her's and places it over the top. He encloses his hand around Alexandra's fingers, staring at her intently. He squeezes it before letting her hand go and retreating from the car. Alexandra watched as he sent Hayley a nod and entered the plantation. Alexandra got out of the car and walked up to Hayley, the werewolf frowned at the witch and crossed her arms.

"So...he rejected you as well. Such a shame." Hayley bitched to Alexandra. She rolled her eyes and went to walk past her but Hayley moved to block her way. "Why are you still here?" Hayley asked.
