Elijah lead Alex out of the study and to the loungeroom where they noticed Rebekah and Hayley standing together. Rebekah notices them and pours the scotch into three different glasses. She hands one to Alexandra and one to Elijah before turning back to Hayley.

"I don't care if we have to get you a leash, that was your last trip to the bayou. What is it with you and those wolves, anyway?" Rebekah asked. Elijah and Alexandra looked at each other confused. What had the others been up to all day.

"What happened today?" Alexandra butted in before Hayley could answer Rebekah's question. They turned towards the witch and eldest original.

"Oh right, you both were in the study all day. Niklaus threatened Sophie, then went out with Marcel. Hayley here went on a quest to find out more about those werewolves. I followed her. We had a nice stroll through the bayou and now here we are waiting for Nik to come home." Rebekah explained. Alexandra's eyes widened in shock, they had missed so much in the span of one day. She glanced at Elijah and noticed that he too was shocked so much had happened.

"I feel like we're connected somehow. I don't know. Maybe it's just some pipe dream that I have of finding any real family out there. But sometimes, when I feel like it's me against the world, it keeps me going." Hayley explained going back to Rebekah's question. She glanced Alexandra over and rolled her eyes. Hayley had gone to find Elijah earlier today, she wanted him to go with her out into the Bayou. In all honesty she just wanted to spend time with him and distance him from Alexandra. But she found him with his hands on Alex's cheeks, and it had looked like they had just pulled away from a kiss or something. Either way, it made Hayley furious and she just left them.

"Well, if you ask me, family is a pain in the behind. Except you Elijah. And as for being in it alone, how dare you? I don't ruin a perfectly fabulous pair of boots traipsing through the bayou for just anyone." Rebekah smiled. Hayley returned it before Rebekah downed her drink. They all stood in a comfortable silence before Niklaus walked through the front door. Elijah nodded towards Alexandra and she gave him a nod in return.

"Now that everyone is here, it's time we all talked." Elijah informed them all. Everyone but Alex looked at him confused. He gestured towards the study and they all followed in pursuit. Hayley and Rebekah sat on the two seater lounge chair, Niklaus stood leaning against the office desk. Alexandra had taken a seat in the office chair while Elijah leaned against the back of it, looking at everyone.

"Everything that brought us here to New Orleans was a lie. This story that Sophie Deveraux fabricated, this struggle for control of the French Quarter, this war between vampires and witches, wasn't over territory at all, this was over Davina." Elijah started to explain. Niklaus, Rebekah and Hayley all widened their eyes in shock. They all glanced towards Alexandra who nodded, confirming it all.

Elijah paused for a moment before continuing. "Eight months ago, Sophie Deveraux and her sister Jane-Anne lost everything. Now, four months after that, a young pregnant girl wanders into their restaurant. Suddenly, all hope is renewed. Jane-Anne actually sacrificed her life so that her sister can use you to find Davina. If Sophie Deveraux is successful in capturing Davina, she can return Jane-Anne's daughter back to life. We thought we'd come here to wage a war for power. This is about family. In order to return her niece to life, Sophie Deveraux will fight to the death. That makes her more dangerous than anyone." Everyone soaked in the information before deciding to retreat to their bedrooms. Alexandra stood up from her chair and started making her way out when she paused noticing Elijah and Hayley out on the back porch. Alex usually wasn't one to snoop, but she just couldn't help herself.

"Alex knew all this...we can't trust her." Hayley stated firmly. Alexandra rolled her eyes, she was ready for Elijah to agree with the werewolf but instead his response shocked her.

"Her life is linked to your life Hayley. She told me the whole story today and at the end of the day she wants to protect Davina from being sacrificed and also used. I trust her, you should too. She has done nothing to wrong any of us, all she did was protect her own. That's what the rest of us do on a daily basis. Get some rest Hayley, you need it." Elijah replied. He went to turn around yet Hayley gripped his arm and pulled him closer to her. Alexandra watched, anger and jealousy boiling up in her. Although she didn't intervene, she couldn't make Elijah feel the way she did. She had to let him decided for himself how he feels.

Elijah stared down at Hayley confused. His eyes widened as he watched Hayley's flicker from his eyes to his lips and then back up. He didn't want to kiss her, he didn't want to lead her on. Yet before he could pull himself away, Hayley had locked her lips onto his. Although Elijah didn't kiss her back, instead he gripped her shoulders and pushed her back slightly.

"I'm sorry if I had given you any mixed signals but I don't see you that way. You have become family Hayley, that's all." Elijah stated firmly hoping she'd get the message. Hayley rolled her eyes and crossed her arms in anger, pouting.

"You'd rather kiss her-" Hayley mumbled, Elijah knew immediately who she was talking about and he blushed slightly which was all the confirmation Hayley needed. "She's just a witch, she'll die at the hands of someone in this family. The only reason why she is here now is because she is linked to me. You don't think she will stay once the link is broken do you?"

Elijah looked down at the ground, he knew she was right. After the link was broken Alexandra would probably return to the witches. She'd find a way to get Davina back and move on with her life. She didn't need Elijah adding to her lists of problems.

Alexandra rolled her eyes at the werewolf. Alex had grown to care about every member of the Mikealson family. She wouldn't just leave them and return back to her normal life. She didn't want normal anymore, she wanted all this madness, which made her crazy. Alexandra didn't stay to listen to anymore of the conversation which is why she missed a very important confession.

"She's my soulmate Hayley. That journal you were reading the other day...that was the year I first dreamt about her, about Alexandra. It was the year I found out that one day my life would be bound to another." Elijah confessed to the werewolf. Hayley's eyes widened in shock and absolute horror. So she had just below zero chances to get with Elijah at all because his life was 'bound' to Alexandra's. Hayley scoffed before turning and storming back inside. Elijah signed before he turned and looked up. He froze as he noticed Alexandra looking down at him from her window, she sent him a soft smile before closing the curtains.

Elijah's heart swelled. He was gonna tell her, he didn't care about the consequences. He just wanted her apart of his life, no matter what he would protect her, always and forever. After all...she was his soulmate.
