A month had passed since Rebekah's leave. Alexandra and Elijah had spent that month working together to create peace within New Orleans. When they weren't running things they were spending time together, just the two of them.

Alex rolled over onto her side and slowly opened her eyes, adjusting to the sunlight that shone through the curtains. A small smile graced her lips as she looked up at the pillow next to her to see Elijah sleeping peacefully beside her. Alexandra slowly moved his arm from around her waist and soundlessly stood up.

She made her way into the bathroom after grabbing an outfit for the day. Alex stood in the shower letting the water run down her body when she suddenly felt Elijah's arms wrap around her body. She leaned back into his chest and let him take over washing their bodies. After their rendezvous in the shower they both got out and changed.

Elijah stood in front of his mirror trying to do up his cufflinks, but failing. Alex let out a chuckle and Elijah turned his head, sending her a playful glare. "Want some help?" Alexandra asked. Elijah smiled and nodded before Alex walked over to him and started doing his cufflinks while he stared at her lovingly.

After they both finished getting dressed they left their room and Alex groaned in disgust seeing the pieces of clothing scattered on the floor, leading a path towards Niklaus's bedroom. Alexandra and Elijah both gave each other a look before entering Niklaus's room and Alex picked up Genevieve's heels.

"Yes, apart from the one lingering monster with whom you share a bed." Elijah spoke as they entered, a glare set on the red head as Alexandra held the heels towards her.

"I trust you can find your clothing, the door and a life." Alexandra spat. Genevieve stood up sending Niklaus a smile. She walked towards the couple and took her heels from Alex and left the room.

Elijah turned, his eyes following the witch as she left. "You do recall that woman tortured our sister?" Elijah stated annoyed at his younger brothers actions.

"She also revealed the truth about our sister's treachery." Niklaus shot back in annoyance, Alexandra watched him and she could see the pain that was hidden deep within his eyes.

Elijah still hadn't turned back to face Niklaus, Alex could feel his anger. "And as a consequence, Rebekah is gone forever." Elijah stated calmly. Alexandra signed and crossed her arms.

"I'll be in the study, you both talk." Alexandra said before kissing Elijah's cheek and leaving the room. She sat in the study, a book in her lap as she read it. A few moments has passed before Elijah entered the room, a scowl placed on his face.

"I'm going to the fraction meeting. I shouldn't be too long." Elijah said doing up the button of his blazer jacket. Alex nodded before closing the book and standing up. Elijah grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him, he smiled. "I love you."

Alexandra blushed and nodded in agreement. "I love you too." She replied before Elijah leant down and pecked her lips before leaving. An hour passed when Alexandra's phone started ringing, she looked down and noticed Hayley calling.
