Elijah, Rebekah and Alexandra arrived back at the plantation. They had offered to drive Alex home but she needed to grab a few things. Elijah opens the front door and pulls it back from Rebekah and Alexandra. Rebekah walked in first, followed by Alex who sends Elijah a kind smile.

"I stink of the bog!" Rebekah exclaimed feeling disgusted. Alexandra rolled her eyes and chuckled as they stepped into the foyer.

"Serves you right, for your pathetic attempt to undermine my rule." Niklaus's voice says cutting through the air. The three others turn and notice him sitting on the piano stool. As they walk towards him, Alexandra pauses and leans against the framing.

"Nik, listen." Rebekah started as she moves closer then the others.

Niklaus cut her off, "When I order wereolves to be hunted to extinction, I expect you to stand aside and let the blood flow." The frown on his lips never leaving. "And you," He started glancing towards Alexandra, Elijah moved slightly which made Nik roll his eyes. "I thought you had been kidnapped. Hayley wouldn't tell me where you were, it wasn't until Diego told me about your adventure with my siblings."

Alexandra signed and went to apologies but Elijah butted in before her. "How delightfully democratic of you." Elijah said pulling his hand from his pocket and throwing a ring to Niklaus, who caught it and held it between his fingers. "Do you recognize it? Perhaps you don't, it has been a thousand years since you last saw it grace the hand of our mother. The ring was in possession of one of the very wolves whose extinction you just ordered. So naturally, I questioned him. He spoke of a legend. A legend wherein long ago, a chief of theirs had fathered a child to a very powerful witch. Their mythology further states that this child, a son, was later transformed into something this clan had never before seen. Something werewolf and vampire." Niklaus kept his features void of any emotion, but Alex could see the pain and recognition within his eyes.

"Nik, we're trying to make amends. We found remnants of your family. The bloodline of your true father. And we saved them from being slaughtered at the hands of the vampires you command." Rebekah added, her voice calm as she spoke. Alexandra decided that this wasn't a conversation she should be apart of so she turned and left the siblings. Alex walked up stairs and into the room she once occupied. She grabbed a few things before making her way back down stairs again to see Niklaus walking out of the room.

"Are you coming with me little witch?" Niklaus asked. Alex glanced towards Elijah and he nodded as if telling her to go. Alexandra nodded before following Niklaus out of the house. He grabbed her waist and vamp-sped them both back to the compound. As they walked inside, Alexandra grabbed his arm, stopping him.

"They care about you in their own way. I know sometimes they do things that hurt you and betray you, but it's only because they don't understand. Everything you do is to protect them, and they know that, they just don't like the way you do it." Alexandra expressed softly. Niklaus looked down at her, tears now raising in his eyes. He didn't understand how someone as kind, and caring and herself could understand his broken soul.

"Why are you so nice to me?" Niklaus asked as he wiped the fallen tears from his cheek. Alexandra chuckled and shrugged her shoulders lightly.

"I guess it's just in my nature, to be honest...you have become my best friend and it is my duty to make sure you are given the best advice ever." Alexandra explained. Niklaus laughed softly, and it was a genuine laugh unlike all the other times he had laughed.

"Best friends huh? I could get use to that." Niklaus stated. Alexandra smiled and nodded.

"Good because you are now stuck with me." Alexandra joked as they walked further into the compound. Niklaus wrapped an arm around Alex's shoulder, holding her close to him.

"So...as your best friend. Do I get to know the hot topic of you and my brother?" Niklaus asked as they approached the bar to the side of the foyer. Alexandra blushed as she took a seat at the bar and Niklaus poured them both a whiskey each.

"What about me and your brother?" Alexandra asked, playing dumb. Niklaus sent her a look while handing her the drink. "Okay, fine. We went on a date the other night and it was really good."

"And?" Niklaus asked leaning on his elbows. Alex blushed deeper.

"And nothing else. There was no goodnight kiss or secret rondavos. It was just a date, he took me to this small restaurant on the other side of town and we spoke about everything and anything that didn't include Vampire, Witches and Werewolves." Alexandra explained. Niklaus scoffed and stood up straight sipping at his drink.

"You mean the restaurant he owns?" Niklaus asked. Alex's eyes widened in shock at the confession.

"Wha-what?" Alexandra stuttered and Niklaus chuckled.

"Yes well my brother is a big business man, suits all day everyday. He owns a lot of businesses, restaurants, bars and pubs." Niklaus continued to express, it scared Alexandra even more. He was a busy man, even as a vampire he still had his own empire, of course. Niklaus noticed the fear in Alexandra's face and frowned, confused. "What's wrong love?"

"How can someone like me-just a New Orleans witch who hasn't even been outside this city-be soulmates with someone like him? He deserves something more then this...what if the universe got it wrong?" Alexandra asked before she looked down and sculled her drink quickly. Niklaus stepped forward and collected her hands in his. Alex turned and looked up at him.

"I think the universe chose exceptionally right. Your soul is identical to Elijah's. The way you care for this family, how much you help me. You and Elijah are the same. It wouldn't have mattered if you were the richest, poorest, a model or even homeless...the universe tied you to my brother because you both are the same." Niklaus exclaimed and Alexandra smiled brightly up at him. She grasped his shoulders and pulled him into a bear hug. Niklaus chuckled before hugging the witch back just as tightly. They didn't pull away until someone cleared their throat. Niklaus stood up straight and turned around while Alexandra looked over his shoulder, to see Elijah glaring harshly at Niklaus.

"Haven't you had your fill of telling me all the ways I've disappointed you, Elijah?" Niklaus asked, his frown returning as he remembered what had happened in the bayou. Elijah adverted his eyes from Alexandra to his younger brother.

"Well, there is something important we neglected to discuss. I accused you of having ulterior motives regarding the child. I was wrong. I'm sorry." Elijah apologized. Alexandra stood up and went to walk away knowing this should be a conversation between the two of them. "This will only take a moment, please, stay."

Alexandra paused and nodded before clasping her hands together behind her back, swaying side to side. "I imagine that must have been hard for you to say." Niklaus stated. Alexandra smacked his shoulder lightly and sent him a look.

"You don't make it easy to love you, brother." Elijah replied which made Alex chuckled.

"And yet, you're obstinate in your desire to do so. When you're ready, should you be so inclined, both you and Rebekah are welcome to join me here. It is, after all, our family home." Nikalus said and Alexandra smiled at him before he turned and started making his way up the stairs, leaving Elijah and Alex alone.

"It's been a long day, goodnight Elijah." Alexandra spoke and nodded towards the eldest Mikaelson. As she went to walk past him, he grabbed her arm spinning her around so that her chest was pushed up against his own. Alex's eyes widened as she stared up at Elijah. His own eyes flicking from hers to her lips. He wanted to just kiss her, oh so badly but he didn't want to rush anything between them.

So instead, he leaned down and Alexandra closed her eyes anticipating his lips on her own. Although she froze when she felt them on her forehead and signed. "Goodnight, Alexandra." Elijah whispered before he vamp-sped away, leaving Alex in the middle of the compound wanting more.
