"Hi, baby!" I said, smiling as we walked through the woods.
She found the walks outside soothing. Whenever she was fussy or just tired of being in the cabin, I'd take her on a walk. She'd see so many different things that amused her and brought joy to her.
"Hello, darling." Elijah's voice echoed.
Ella's face perked up at the sound of his voice just before he took her in his arms.
"Does the forest offer you some company, darling?" He smirked.
"I mean, it's been months, Elijah."
"Dahlia is a threat that has yet to cease. You must stay protected until she is dead or captured."
"What the hell have you been doing then?"
"Patience. She is capable of things.. even Freya is not aware of. We must be ready for our final battle with her which we cannot lose. Until then, you and my niece will be here."
I scoffed, rolling my eyes.
"Actually, I brought a few friends for you, darling."

"Hi, I'm Dawn.." She waved.
"I'm Mia."
"Dawn, here, is a new wolf. I figured since you have free time, you could help increase her skills."
"And who's this?" I asked, looking at the stranger.
"Mia, this is Russell, Dawn's father. His goal is to protect his daughter and protect you-"
"Elijah, we've been fine. We don't need protection."
