"I can't.." I whispered.
Dawn sighed, holding her wrist out.
"Why not? You need blood."
"I don't take from pregnant women, beautiful. Besides, Bash would kill me if I did."
"I should kill you for making me think that wasn't my baby." He glared at me.
"Dude, Dawn loves the crap out of you. There's no way she's having a baby by some other guy."
He kept quiet, staring at the infected wound on my side then at me. They'd stopped pumping me with vervain and wolfsbane so I was only tied to the chair.
"Stop looking at me like that.."
"I'm worried, Mia! You look dead, it's a matter of time before you are. We need to get out of here."
"And how do you suggest we do that? They took your daylight rings so you can't go outside." Dawn said.
"You can, though." He turned to her.
"Babe, you're a wolf, sunlight doesn't affect you. When you get the chance, run like hell and don't stop."
"Where do I go?"
"Klaus.." I whispered, feeling my eyes get heavy.
"No. We're not involving any more Mikaelsons."
"Bash, please... Stop. Wait until nightfall then escape."
"What about you?"
"What about me? I'll only drag you down, I'm too weak."
"I'm not leaving you here!"
"Yes, you are. I am your big sister, you have to do what I say."
"No. That card doesn't apply right now."
"I'm right, Bash. I can barely support my own head long enough, there's no way I'm running away."
He huffed, blinking away tears. After some deep convincing, he and Dawn established their plan. I lightly smiled, hoping they'd get their happy ending.
"Hey, hush. I hear someone coming." Bash said.
"You ready?"
Dawn nodded, stepping aside. He looked to me, taking my hand.
"I love you, sis." He kissed my forehead.
"Get outta here, kid. Take care of my niece or nephew."
~
"What?" I whispered, looking around the room.
There was glass on the floor, and no one else. The door opened.
"What the hell!?" Marcel shouted as Elijah pushed him toward me then left.
"You'd think he would remember me considering I spent a nice amount of time compelling him."
"Did you see any signs? Do you know where we are?" I asked.
"Shiloh Place."
"I've never heard of it."
"Just outside of New Orleans.. how are you?"
"Marcel, I'm okay.." I assured, clearing my throat.
Voices outside the door filled my ears before it opened. Ella's smile dropped once she saw me before she ran to me.
"Mom?"
"What is this?" She asked, turning to Roman.
As soon as she faced him, he put the chains on her wrists, disabling her magic.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered.
"What's going on?" She questioned.
"I know this looks bad but if you just do the binding spell.."
"Binding spell? What's he talking about?" I asked her.
"Greta said that if I did the binding spell that they'd let you live."
"Greta said that?"
Disbelief filled my tone.
"It's just so Ella can't make any more hybrids. Our movement is about getting the natural order back, okay? That's all my mom wants." Roman said.
"Wait, Greta's your mom?!" Ella exclaimed.
Marcel shook his head.
"Untie me, now." I told the boy.
"I can't, okay. Just do the binding spell and you'll be fine, alright."
"Nothing will be fine for you unless you untie me."
"I can't. My mom is doing what she thinks is right."
"You realize that your mother is insane?" I said.
"It's not insane to defend yourself, okay? Werewolves kill to trigger their curse, none of them are innocent. At least they're a naturally occurring species. Hybrids are a perversion. Look at Klaus, and Henry! Henry was a hybrid for a day before he murdered someone."
"Well, at least u know how you really feel." Ella sadly spoke.
"Hybrids have a choice too, Roman. We all have free will. Klaus did whatever he did, not because he's a hybrid but because he's Klaus. Henry's just a kid, eventually he'll learn self control.."
Ella shook her head.
"Mom. Henry's dead."
"Wait. What happened?"
"They tore his heart out and strung him up outside Rousseau's."
"Who did?" I questioned, looking to Roman.
"No one knows.." she replied.
"I bet Roman's mother does. Think about it! If they did that to some backwards bayou kid that they barely even knew, imagine what they're gonna do to us."
"No. No, my mom just wants peace. If you bind yourselves, you'll see, you'll be free."
"And if you believe that, then you really are a fool. Your mother doesn't want to bind us, Roman. She wants to kill us."
He stared at me, not wanting to believe my words that he knew were true.
