"So, Lucien's venom is derived from all seven packs and he has injected himself with a lethal strain that can kill an original?" I questioned.
"Yes, darling." Elijah responded.
Someone banged on the door. He and I rushed to the entrance, spotting Hayley talking to Camille.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"It's Klaus... Lucien has him."
"Come in, you're invited. Tell us what happened." Freya said.
"Lucien ambushed him. He knocked him around like it was nothing."
"Did he bite him?" Elijah questioned.
"No. I think he wanted him alive. I followed them back to the penthouse."
Elijah took his vibrating phone out of his pocket, scoffing as he looked at the screen.
"Lucien is demanding my presence at the Whiskey Cask. Alone and immediately. He says if I delay, Niklaus will die. I must go." He said then quickly left.
Such a short time later:
"Here's the problem: I haven't been invited into Lucien's penthouse."
Camille confessed as we walked down the street, on the way to rescue Klaus.
"So you can wave your dark objects in the foyer, and I'll do all the dirty work." I told her.
"What if I'm a liability? I've been training, so I can punch a bag, but in a real fight?"
"Camille, here's the thing about being afraid. If you have to do the thing that you're afraid of, then all this fear is for nothing. Either turn it into anger or leave it at the door, but either way, you control your emotions. That means you're already one step ahead of Aurora."
She sighed, nodding. Her eyes were fixated on the sign behind me which belonged to the pharmaceutical store.
"Hey, I have an idea."
She rushed in, buying some items then came out. My wolf itched to come out, wanting to rip the crazy ex lover's head off.
Silence filled the elevator ride. Once it reached Lucien's floor, Camille stepped off while I stayed on, listening.
"Cami, it's been a while. How's vampirism treating you?" Aurora said.
"As a matter of fact, I'm enjoying it. That's why I'm here, to express my gratitude."
"Ooh, you cheeky little minx. Have you come to have a go at me? You're brandishing your antiques at me. I suppose I would be scared if I thought you were quick enough to use them."
There was some commotion before Aurora laughed.
"You really did not think this through, did you?"
"Actually, we did."
As soon as the doors open, I sped over, tackling Aurora. Getting up, I drove my hand into her chest before Klaus shouted.
"Stop! She drank the serum."
His bleeding face was the last thing I saw before blacking out.
I'd hated when my neck was snapped, the waiting was relentless. Finally coming to, I heard Aurora's voice.
"Blinded by love as I once was, ready to give everything, even your life, for one who is and always will be unworthy."
She taunted Klaus before walking over to Camille who stood at the door, still holding the knife.
"Camille, now."
Camille roughly kicked her back.
I
sped over, leaning her head back.
"Payback's a bitch. Good night, sunshine."
She whimpered before I snapped her neck, dropping her body to the ground.
Once Klaus was free, we helped him back to the compound. He freshened up, drinking some blood to heal then joined us in the lounge.
"Aurora's still out cold. What are the chances of keeping her that way?" Hayley asked.
"Oh, my spell will keep her down long enough to use the serum in her blood to figure out how to kill both her and Lucien." Freya replied.
"I must say, I'm rather looking forward to it."
"You're welcome."
"I suppose I ought to be thanking you as well." He said then smirked, approaching me.
"You can thank me in diaper duty." I smiled, patting him on the shoulder.
