"Focus!" Elijah sternly said as we stood on the mat in the gym.

I huffed, holding my fists up and channeling the anger in me.

"Every full moon, every time I would turn human, all I could think about was..."

"Blood. I understand." He finished.

"No. You don't get it. It wasn't just blood. It was Klaus.. What he did to me, his gloating, Davina using me. If she blows out that candle, I'm back to being a wolf.. what if I'm holding Ella?"

"You wouldn't hurt her, darling."

"Every day, every day, all I can think about is ripping everything apart."

He looked at me with concern before brushing it off.

"Get it out of your system." He adjusted himself, defensively holding his hands up.

After a while of us sparring, it came to end. I'd been too rough with Elijah so he had a temporary mark on his face.

We headed back to the compound where Klaus was standing at the door with Ella. Her face lit up as she laid eyes on us.

I smiled at how well she was walking before picking her up. As I kissed her face, Klaus and Elijah talked.

"So my first sire wants to kill you. Yours wants to kill me. Makes you regret turning any vampires in the first place." Klaus said as he shut the door behind us and we walked in.

"Well, the division of labor seems crystal clear... two of them, two of u... us.." Elijah trailed off, taking notice of the dead, bloody woman on the floor.

I turned Ella away, watching as Klaus picked up a note off the woman's body. He read it then rolled his eyes, handing it to Elijah.

"Roses are red. Lavender is blue. Come find me before I find you." Elijah read.

I looked at the name at the bottom, groaning.

"I remember her a better poet." Klaus joked.

"There's something you should know. When mother seized control of my mind, unleashing those monstrosities that lurk behind the red door, I saw something. Aurora was there." Elijah confessed.

"If you mean to confess a thousand-year-old secret that will divide us after our hard-won reconciliation, then te absolvo, brother. There is nothing you could have done involving her that would be worse than what she did to me."

"Please do not dismiss this, Nikla-"

"Whatever it is, it can wait. We have a plate of here-and-now problems, and I mean to clear it. If it makes you feel any better, we can kill Aurora together. Then neither of us need play her little mind games ever again, hm.."

After settling Ella in, I sluggishly made my way to the Lafayette Cemetery.

"Thanks for coming."

"Like I had a choice, Davina. Either I do your bidding or you blow out that candle of yours, turning me back into a wolf, so I'm pretty much your slave. What do you want?"
