five years later

"It's beautiful." I complimented the picture Ella was drawing.

"Thanks, mommy."

She perked up, suddenly getting very excited.

"Is that her? Is it Dawn?"

"Let me check. Stay inside."

She nodded, going back to her picture while I walked outside. Dawn buttoned the borrowed pair of jeans, coming into sight.

"How was the run?" I asked.

"It was good. I might've killed some deers."

"Did you find it?"

She rolled her eyes at my question.

"Have you thought that maybe Marcel did this to them for a reason? I mean, Elijah killed him, and if it wasn't for that super hybrid serum he took, he would've been dead."

"After all this time, I am this close to getting them back. I found a cure for Freya's poison, I got a witch to siphon Rebekah's hex."

"So you're really gonna do it? You're gonna cure them and then wake them up?"

"By your tone, I'm sensing you have a problem with that."

"Did you ever stop to think that Ella might be better off without them? She's been great the last five years but once they're awake, they'll do nothing but bring danger to her door."

"I made a promise."

"To who? Klaus?"

"To my daughter. I promised her a home where she would feel safe and protected by the people that love her. She's a Mikaelson, too. She's inherited all of their enemies and powers. She needs someone to teach her to control it. I can't do this on my own."

"Is that what the wolf in the barn is for? Yeah I know about her. Why is she tied up?" Dawn asked.

"Dawn!" Ella yelled.

"It's time for our tea party."

"I'm coming!"

Dawn brushed past me, going inside the house. I shook my head, going inside the barn. My eyes landed on the fidgeting wolf then looked around at the daggered Mikaelsons.

"Let me guess, we're on the run from vampires? You have the same stink they do." She insulted.

"I'm special. I'm a hybrid. Half-vampire, half-werewolf, and considering that I saved your ass, you should show me some respect."

"How do I know you weren't the one that led them to me?"

"Does it matter, Keelin? They know who you are and they want you dead. The only way to survive is to do exactly what I tell you."

"It's not like I have a choice."

I grabbed the mask attached to the tubes causing her to freak out.

"Hey, look, I don't know what kind of pervy stuff you're into, but I am not that kind of girl." She quickly stated.

"Relax, love. This is a device to extract your venom. And before you ask, yes, it will hurt. Sorry.."

"Why are you doing this to me?" She questioned as I took a step.

"I'm trying to save my family. Keelin, the people in there are dying. The only thing keeping them alive is a sleep spell, and the only one that can cure them is her." I pointed to Freya.

"She's a witch, and she left me instructions on how to wake her up early. The only thing I'm missing is your venom. Once she gets on her feet, I can give her the ingredients I got and, with any luck, no one has to die."

"So if I give you what you want will you let me go?"

"You have my word."

After carefully playing phlebotomist, I gave Keelin a snack to recover while waiting for the siblings to awake.

Some time had passed before I went to check on them. I found empty coffins instead, following the voices to the living room.

"You saved us. All of us. I guess Kol and Rebekah couldn't contain their hunger." Elijah said as he hugged me.

"Now, please tell me how is my niece?" He pulled away as I smiled.

"She's amazing. She's healthy, happy.. the perfect little girl. She did make me promise that one day she'd get her family back."

He widely grinned.

"A child after my own heart."

"I have most of you back... There's just one person left."

"Let's go get him."

"We don't have a plan. As much as Marcel adores me, I wouldn't be able to whisk Klaus away from him. Considering how he put you down last time, we need to be smart."

"I am putting together a plan as we speak, darling. Hello, little one.."

"Hi, Uncle Eli.." Ella waved, entering the room then standing next to me.

Her eyes watched his movements.

"I'm not going to hurt you.."

He held his hand out. She stared at it before slowing placing hers on top. He smiled, squeezing her hand and embracing her.

"Our family will be complete.."

I hoped his words would be and stay true for her sake.
