Natsu woke up covered in sweat and his heart racing due to the nightmare he had woken up from. He walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, his mind screaming at him words like 'ugly', 'fat', and 'weak'. Usually, it was worse at night, but this morning was proving otherwise.

All he wanted was for the thoughts to go away, even if it was just for one day, but that wasn't possible. They were always there, no matter how "happy" he was.

He walked into the kitchen and looked for a knife, finding one in the sink. He brought it to his wrist and made a cut. The pain sent a shiver down his spine. He made another cut underneath which eventually turned into 3 more, and 7 on the other wrist. He sighed and threw the knife back into the sink, flinching slightly from the loud noise it made.

Tears began streaming down his face as he grabbed a towel to wipe the blood away. More blood kept coming out so he searched his cabinets for a bandage, finding one underneath the sink. He put it around his wrists and went back into the bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror again.

A smile appeared on his face, although, he didn't know why. None of this was funny to him. Maybe deep down he felt as though he deserves this. Why should he be happy?

He wiped his tears away and began walking to the Guild.

On the way there, he felt all eyes on him, not knowing if it was his mind telling him that or if people were actually staring at him. Either way, it made him feel slightly nauseous.

As he walked into the Guild, he noticed how everyone was either fighting or watching the ongoing fight. As much as he wanted to join, his wrists were hurting way too much.

"Hey Natsu." A voice said from behind him, causing him to turn around.

"Hey Lucy." He replied.

"The whole team is going on a mission." She told him. "We're going in about 10 minutes, so be ready."

"Okay."

Natsu looked extremely excited, but deep down, he wished he'd stayed home. There was no way he'd be able to fight and act like he wasn't in pain. He hoped it wasn't a mission where he needed to fight.

When Team Natsu got onto the train, Natsu didn't feel his usual motion sickness so he put his earphones in and listened to music.

After a while, Natsu noticed that only he and Gray were awake and that the Ice Mage kept glancing at him.

Natsu looked out of the train window, seeing rain spitting down. There were a few rain drops on the window which the Dragon Slayer watched to see which one would hit the bottom first.

There was an empty feeling in his stomach, but not due to hunger. He just wanted someone to hug him and tell him that everything would be okay, even if he thought otherwise.

Natsu brought his knees to his chest and rested his chin on them. If only everything was as it was a few years ago.
