Near Death

Natsu's POV

I checked the time and it was 5am. I had stayed up all that time. (It's 5:54am rn lol) I couldn't be asked to go to sleep so I just continued playing minecraft till I got bored.

2 hours later

I turned the PC off and went on my phone. It was now 7am. I sighed. I was getting tired but I knew that if I fell asleep now I would have to get up later. Gray normally wakes up at 8 so I would only get like an hours sleep. I stood up and stretched. I quietly walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge. (Screw this I'm starving) I picked up some cheese and put it on the counter. I grabbed a knife and that's when Luna started barking. "Luna, no, no, no." I whispered. She wouldn't stop and I started to panic. "Shhh, you're gonna wake Gray up." I whisper-shouted. "Shhhh." She started running around and I put the knife down. She immediately stopped barking so I took a sigh of relief.

"Natsu?" I looked at the door and noticed Gray standing there. He yawned and walked towards me. "What are you doing?" He asked. "Nothing." I said and he raised an eyebrow. "I'm getting food." I said. I picked the knife back up and Luna started barking again. "Screw it." I said and put the knife down. I went into our room and went back on my phone. Luna followed me and layed down in front of me.

"Natsu?" I heard Gray say. "Did you stay up all night?" He asked as he walked into our room. "No, why?" I asked. "Because I woke up at like 2am and you were still on the PC." He said. "I wasn't." I said but he could clearly tell that I was lying. "You need sleep." He said. I rolled my eyes and he sighed. I got my phone out and listened to music as Gray was boring me.

Gray's POV

I watched Natsu put his earphones in and listen to music. I sat next to him and took one of his earphone out. I put it in my ear and we listened to music.

After listening to Natsu's music we decided to listen to mine. I put the earphones in my phone and loaded spotify on. I played the music and we both listened to it.

"We have a similar music taste." Natsu said and got up. He walked out of the room and he left the house.

Natsu's POV

I left the house and went to the lake. I feel like I should tell the guild about me and Gray. But they would judge us. I sighed and sat down on the grass. I looked at the lake and I remembered something that I would like to forget.

Flashback

I looked at the lake and smiled. I ran towards it and jumped. I went down to the bottom and came back up for air. 'What if I just drown?' I thought. I went back down and tried to stay down but I needed more air. I tried to swim back up but I was being held down by something. I opened my eyes and noticed that my ankle was stuck on a chain at the bottom. I need air. I tried to get my foot out but it wasn't working. My vision started to go blurry. I managed to get my foot out. I put my feet at the bottom of the lake and pushed up. I started swimming to the top and I could feel the air. I put my head above the water and took a deep breath in. I swam to the shore and when I stood up I fell over. My vision went blurry and then all I saw was darkness.

Flashback over

I sighed and got up. I was only 15 back then. That was 2 years ago, wow. I looked at the water and sighed. I wonder if that same chain is still down there. There's only one way to find out. I ran towards the water and jumped. I swam as fast as I could down to the bottom. I opened my eyes and saw the chain. I grabbed it and pulled it. There was a chest and it opened. I saw a pair of eyes looking back at me. Whatever it was tried to grab me so I kicked it. I needed air. I swam back up to the surface but the thing grabbed my foot. I kicked it with my other foot and it came towards my face. It scratched my cheek and I saw blood. I tried to use my magic but then I realised that I was underwater. I swam towards the creature and punched it. It bit my hand I let my breath out from pain. I kicked it and swam to the surface. I managed to get some air but was pulled back down into the water again.

"GET OFF!!!" I screamed and kicked it. I went back up for some more air and I noticed that Wendy was near the lake. "WENDY!!!" I screamed and she noticed me. She ran towards me and put her hand out. I saw Carla with her and she flew to help me. I was dragged underwater again but I didn't get any air before. The creature bit my shoulder and the water around me started turning red. I felt a pair of arms lift me up and I looked up to see Carla. She pulled me out of the water and the creature was holding onto my leg. I started kicking it off but it wouldn't let go. "Throw me over there." I said to Carla and pointed to the land. She nodded her head and threw me. I landed on the grass and the creature let go of me. My back hit a tree and I saw Wendy come running towards me.

"Natsu!!" She raised her voice and grabbed my arm. I tried to get up but immediately fell over. I couldn't walk on my left leg. "I can't walk." I said and Wendy sighed. "I can't heal you as you weren't hurt by magic." She cried and I smiled. "It's okay." I said calmly and used the tree to help me get up. "How are you going to get home?" Carla asked. "I'll walk." I whispered but fell over when I let go of the tree. "I'll take you home." Carla said and picked me up. "I live with Gray." I said and she nodded her head. After about 5 minutes we arrived at Gray's house and Carla sat me down on the grass in front of it. She knocked on the door and I saw Gray open it. He noticed me and rushed to my side.

"What happened?" He asked. "Nothing..." I whispered and he helped me up. "Thanks Carla." I said and she smiled. Gray closed the door and sat me down on the sofa. He was cooking something and went back to doing that. I tried to get up but I remembered that I couldn't walk. Screw it. I used the sofa to get up and I held onto it. I managed to walk a couple of steps until I fell. I sat up and held my head. "Oww." I whined and I saw Gray looking worried. He put his arms around me and helped me up. I grabbed onto the wall and walked into the bedroom. Gray helped me in there and when I got on the bed he went back into the kitchen. I felt really tired. Sleeping will probably help my leg heal. I closed my eyes and eventually fell asleep.
