Ice And Butterflies

Mirajane's POV

I was sat at the bar and I noticed Natsu walk in with Gray. Natsu was shaking and Gray seemed to know what was wrong. Natsu ran towards Gajeel and said something to him. He then came running towards me and sat down.

"Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded his head and smiled. That looks like a fake smile... I smiled back and Natsu turned around. He was tapping his leg and I noticed that Gray was watching him. Natsu then looked at Gray and they both nodded their heads. Natsu then turned around to look at me. "Me and Gray are dating." He said and I was shocked. Did my ship really just sail? "WAIT REALLY?!!!" I screamed and everyone looked at us. Natsu blushed and nodded his head. "What is it?" Cana asked. "Natsu and Gray are dating!" I raised my voice and everyone looked shocked. "Give us proof." Gajeel said in the corner. Natsu got up and walked towards Gray. They kissed and everyone was clapping. They then stopped and Natsu sat on Gray's lap.

Natsu's POV

I could hear everyone cheering and clapping. We stopped kissing to get some air and I sat on Gray's lap. Erza came towards us and sat down. "So, I guess you decided to tell everyone." She said and I looked at Gray. I was shaking but he was calming me down. I noticed that he was chewing gum. That's why his breath was minty. "Do you have any gum?" I asked and he nodded his head. "Can I have some?" I asked and he put his hand in his pocket. He grabbed a packet and gave it to me. I smiled and took some gum out and put it in my mouth.

"See, no one is judging you." Gray said and I smiled. I remember saying earlier that everyone would judge me for being with Gray. "And even if they did, I wouldn't let them be mean to you." He said and I smiled. Wendy then came to our table and sat next to Erza. "You thought that everyone would judge you?" Wendy asked. I looked down and nodded my head. "They wouldn't because they are your friends." She said and I smiled. "Exactly." I heard Gray whispered. I looked at him and he smiled. 'They would judge you' Not you again. 'Ypu are a worthless piece of s*** and no one likes you, they will always judge you' I put my head in my hands and sighed. "Please just stop." I whispered.

Gray's POV

"Please just stop." I heard Natsu whisper. Why would he say that? Maybe he's overthinking? Does he do that? He looked at me and looked back at the floor. He seemed upset. I noticed that Erza got up with Wendy and they walked away. I looked back at Natsu and he was almost crying. "Are you okay?" I asked. He looked at me and smiled. That's fake. I could see in his eyes that he was crying for help. "I'm fine." He said and looked away. "Like I'm going to believe that." I said and he looked back at me. "So, are you going to tell me what's wrong?" I asked and he sighed. "I don't know, I just get a voice in my head telling me things and then I start thinking that it's true." He said and he was actually telling the truth for once. I can't tell him to ignore it can I...

"Couldn't you try to distract yourself from it?" I asked. He looked down and rolled his eyes. I looked down as well and his fingernail was bleeding. I noticed that he had been picking it. I put his hands in mine and he looked down. He started tapping his leg and bit the inside of his cheek. He's anxious. He started shaking and he looked around the room. Yep, he's defently anxious. Maybe he's not. Maybe him seeing blood could make him want to cut. He took his hands out of mine and started chewing his sleeve. He looked at me and I raised an eyebrow. "Can I have some ice?" He asked. "Why?" "Please." He begged. I created 3 ice cubes and he took them out of my hand. He put his arm under the table and rolled up his sleeve. He put the ice to his wrist and sighed. I was going to stop him but he looked at me as if to say no.

"What are you doing?" I asked. "Instead of cutting I just do this, it still makes it hurt but not as much." He whispered. I noticed Erza coming towards us and she sat down in front of Natsu. She noticed that he was doing something and raised an eyebrow. "What is he doing?" She asked. "I have no idea." I replied and Natsu looked up. "I'm putting ice on my wrist." "Why?" Erza asked. "It hurts but not much." He replied and Erza had a sad expression on her face. Natsu looked back down and I noticed that the ice was starting to melt. Natsu burnt it and pulled his sleeve back down. He looked like he had an idea. "Can we go home?" He asked. I nodded my head and we both got up. "Can I come with you, it's just that I haven't seen you guys in ages?" Erza asked. "Sure." Natsu said and she got up as well. We all headed to my house and once we got there we all sat down. Natsu grabbed a pen and started drawing something on his wrist.

"How are you guys?" Erza asked. "We're good." I replied. Natsu then stopped whatever he was drawing and drew on his other wrist. He then stopped that as well and put the pen away. "What are you drawing?" I asked. Natsu looked up and showed me his wrists. They were drawings of butterflies. What does that mean? Erza looked shocked and smiled. "Let's hope you can do that." She said. "Do what?" I asked. "It's the butterfly project." Natsu said. I raised an eyebrow and he smiled. "It's where your draw a butterfly on places where you cut and you leave it there to eventually go away but if you cut it means that you killed it and have to wash it off but if you don't cut then the butterfly lives." He explained. After about an hour Erza went home and me and Natsu went to sleep.
