I took out Kyoshi's old kimono from out the sack the day Katara "borrowed" the relicts from the shrine. My old clothes were tattered and torn, due to the fight we had in Ba Sing Se. So, I hastily try it on. The long flowing kimono fit perfectly, except I used my own boots instead. I felt confident, not because I'm wearing clothes that once belong to an Avatar, and who is related me. But in a few short hours we'll put the war behind us.
"So, guys how does it look?" I said, showing the team my new look.
"Wow, you look amazing," Katara said giving me a hug.
"Top of the morning, Momo!" Aang said cheerfully.
"Sounds like you slept well."
"Like a baby moose lion. I'm ready to face the Fire Lord." Aang said assuming a fighting stance.
"Wow Amaya, you look just like Kyoshi with that on." Aang said to me.
"You really think so, I should've taken some make up but I thought that'll be too much," I said, clearing the bangs away from my face.
"So, what's your strategy for taking him down? Gonna get your glow on and hit him with a little Avatar State action?" Toph asked, wiggling her fingers through her eyes, mimicry of the Avatar State.
"I can't. When Azula shot me with lightning, my seventh chakra was locked, cutting off my connection to all the cosmic energy in the universe."
"You know what I just heard? Blah, blah, spiritual mumbo jumbo blah, blah, something about space." Toph said holding up one hand making a gibber-gabber expression.
"He means, he can't go into the Avatar State because of his "Sudden injuries" I whispered to Toph.
"Oh, no. Sokka, do you think the fog will delay the invasion?" Katara asked, I looked over on the horizon as a thick cloud hovered over the ocean.
"No. That is the invasion!" Sokka said with excitement. As the fog cleared revealing an armada of water tribe ships. Toph and Aang rush down the cliff side to meet them leaving Katara, Sokka and I alone.
"Um, Sokka can I borrow your sword?" I asked him twiddling both my index fingers nervously.
"Uh, sure, but why?" he asked with a confused look on his face. I took the sword and gathered the long ebony locks from the back and with one fell slice, cut my hair into a long messy bob.
Sokka and Katara stare at me in astonishment, "You cut your hair?" Sokka asked surprised.
"What? We're invading the Fire Nation right? Might as well look good doing it," I said as I used Toph's meteor bracelet to form a kunai and clip off the excess hair from the front.
_______________
We catch up with Aang and Toph, and met with people we've met in our travels. It brought back so many memories, even though we were with them for a short time. While I was saying hello to the Duke and Pipsqueak Katara beckoned me over.
