Tariqq strummed the thin nylon strings of his sanshin. The battered instrument, that have been destroyed countless times by the guards, and time and time again he finds some way of repairing it. The melody's he was playing gave way to a time when he was his younger self. His rebellious, younger self.
SAA kimi wa nonaka no ibara no hana ka
(Oh, My wife is as a flower amidst a bed of thorns.
I hold you back when I return at dusk.)

MATAHAARI NU TSUINDARA KANUSHAMAYO
MATAHAARI NU TSUINDARA KANUSHAMAY-
*BANG!*
"STOP THAT SINGING THAT STUPID SONG OR ELSE I'M BREAKING THAT STUPID INSTRUMENT!" ordered a prison guard.
"Well lucky for you, I've save some extra string and wood. So your act of punishment will be in vain." Tariqq said with a smirk.
____________
Tariqq was captured five years ago, when he was leading the charge in the earth kingdom. It was breakfast time, as most of the prisoners gathered at the courtyard.
"Hey! Riqq!"
Tariqq turned to see his friend Chit Sang and others gathered around the floor in a huddled like group. Tariqq smiled and headed towards them, and sat down. He stared his food. A half spoiled fish, with moldy bread. The broth tasted sour and so too did his apatite. It's been five years and this is what they come up with? Well it is a prison after all.
"You're going to finish that?" Chit Sang asked, gobbling down the last piece of his bread.
"I don't know buddy, I think this one has mold." Tariqq said holding up the roll.
"Doesn't matter." Chit Sang said as he snatched the bread and munches it down. Tariqq stared in horror but smiled afterwards.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Chit Sang."
Tariqq turned to see Lee Fang and his entourage gathering around his table.
"What do you want Lee?" Chit Sang said his back turned.
"Well a little birdy told me that you cheated the last gambling game we had."
"I didn't cheat, you're just a bad gambler." Chit Sang said smugly as he began to drink his tea.
One of his goons rushed and grabbed Chit Sang by his shoulders.
"You better have our money or else there will be problems!" he yells balling his fists, Chit Sang stood up to face him. His towering figure made the goon quiver a bit. Tariqq looked around, the sudden commotion has drawn some spectators. Fights were common in the Boiling Rock, only to be followed by strict punishment. Tariqq had to do something, and fast.
"Now, now gentleman, let's not have tempers flare." he said, going in-between the feuding men.
"You're the one to talk, waterbender." Lee said with a smirk.
"I'm sorry, come again?" Tariqq said turning to the leader.
"All I'm saying is that you don't even belong here, you're not Fire Nation, nor are you a firebender. So why are you in our business?"
"He's just weak like the other waterbenders. No wonder the Water tribe was laid to ruin." said another one of his goons. The whole prison began to laugh. Tariqq hung his head, balled his fists, and gritted his teeth. Then he saw that Lee was holding a hot cup of tea in his hand. He needed to be quick about. He closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and smiled deviously.
