FLASHBACK: We went to Gaoling in search of an earthbending teacher for Aang and me. We found Toph, a blind girl that uses the earth for sight. We then had a little cat and mouse chase with the same girls we met in Omashu, which in my opinion, was ridiculous; then a few days later, with the help of an earth kingdom scholar, we went to a library in the middle of the desert, guarded by an owl spirit. We later found out that there was a solar eclipse in the coming months, that's when the firebenders are at their weakest, I found a good piece of information myself, a book called the Sansar, it's about the story about the first Sansar, after escaping the library, we've got stranded in the desert and found out that sand benders sold Appa.  But our journey continues.

It was a hot day, but we made it out of that heated sauna of a desert; we stopped by a near waterfall pond a few miles away  to cool off. Sokka was busy surveying a map sat on the ground close to the shore. Toph was playing in the water with her feet. Me, in a high ponytail using my headband to pull the wet bangs from my face, sitting next to the bank after swimming for five minutes. I missed the cooling sensation of water that gushes through my skin.

" Waterbending bomb!" Katara said excitedly and jumped in the water. The splash sends Aang out of the water, breaks his ice prison, soaking Sokka and Toph; I waterbend a shield so that wouldn't get soaked.

"Sure, five-thousand-year-old maps from the spirit library. Just splash some water on them," Sokka said sarcastically.

"Sorry," Katara said, wringing her hair dry and bends the water off the map. We gathered around Sokka, who was carefully examining the map.

"So, did you figure out what route we're going to take?" Aang asked.

"Okay, we just got out of the desert, so we must be around here. And we need to go to Ba Sing Se, which is here. It looks like the only passage connecting the south to the north is this sliver of land called the Serpent's Pass,"

"Hmm, why does that ring a bell? " I asked, holding my chin in thought.

"You sure that's the best way to go?" Toph asked,

"It's the only way. I mean, it's not like we have Appa to fly us there,"

"Shush up about Appa. Can't you at least try to be sensitive?" Katara said, look at Aang,

"Katara, it's okay. I know I was upset about losing Appa before, but I want to focus on getting to Ba Sing Se and telling the Earth King about the solar eclipse," Aang said.

"Oh ... well, okay. I'm glad you're doing better," Katara said,

"Then to Ba Sing Se we go. No more distractions," Sokka said, determined, " Hello there, fellow refugees!" said a voice.

A man and a pregnant woman, assuming that's wife, and a maid. After greeting Than and his wife,

"So, you guys are headed to Ba Sing Se, too?" Aang asked.

"Sure are. We're trying to get there before my wife, Ying has her baby," Than said, holding his wife's stomach.

"Great! We can travel through the Serpent's Pass together," Katara said; the three refugees look up in terror.

"The Serpent's Pass? Only the truly desperate take that deadly route!" Ying said in horror, why does it sound so familiar?  I thought,  "Deadly route. Great pick Sokka," Toph said sarcastically, punching Sokka in the arm,

"Well, we are desperate," Sokka rebutted, "Yeah, but not "trying to get killed" desperate," I said, crossing my arms.

"You should come with us to Full Moon Bay. Ferries take refugees across the lake. It's the fastest way to Ba Sing Se," Than said, "And it's hidden, so the Fire Nation can't find it," Ying joined.

"Hmm ... peaceful ferry ride or deadly pass?"

"Ah, decisions, decisions," I said sarcastically.
