I couldn't sleep a wink that night, all I could think about was losing Yue. I slowly crept out of the bunks as quietly as I could, suddenly I heard a small noise. I briskly turned only to see Aang as he twitches here and there, he's probably is having a nightmare I thought.
The moon was still out in the sky. Full, and bright.
I sighed, "Oh Yue," as a tear rolled down my face.
"Everything all right?"
It startled me, I quickly turned to see Aang walking towards me.
"Aang, w-what are you doing up?" I asked quickly wiping the tear.
"There you are," Katara said as she approached us, "Is everything okay Amaya?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just you know mourning the loss of my cousin," I said with a weak smile.
Katara places her hand on my shoulder. "So, what happened to you? " I asked Aang, "Pretty shaken up I guess,"
"Do you want to talk about it?" Katara asked, "Nah, just a nightmare," Aang said, Aang hesitated then takes a deep breath," I was in the Avatar State, but I was outside my body watching myself. It was scary. I was scary," he bows his head, as though he was ashamed of what he had done.
_______________
Morning came as we all packed our necessities and placed them on Appa. Uncle Pakku and other men came to bid us a farewell, some bearing gifts.
"Katara, I want you to have this," he said as he reached in a sack, "This amulet contains water from the Spirit Oasis. The water has unique properties. Don't lose it,"
Katara accepts amulet, "Thank you, Master Pakku" she said giving him a hug.
"Aang, these scrolls will help you master waterbending. But remember, they're no substitute for a real master,"
Aang looks up at Katara, who is sitting on Appa and looks back.
"Amaya," Uncle Pakku said, as a man goes and retrieves a water skin.
"This water skin was given to me by my grandfather, and now that you've mastered the art of waterbending, it's now yours," Uncle Pakku said with a smile, "I'm so proud of you, little niece," he said, his words still warm.
"Thank you Uncle Pakku," I said hugging him.
"And Sokka, take care, son," Uncle Pakku said patting his shoulder leaving him dismayed. "Fly straight to the Earth Kingdom base to the east of here. General Fong will provide you with an escort to Omashu. There, you will be safe to begin your earthbending training with King Bumi,"
"Appa yip yip,"
"Say hi to gran gran for me!" Katara said waving goodbye. The wide-open seas turned into vast valleys and green vegetation. I missed the high peaks of the mountains and the lush greenery of open plains. The hours passed by like days, then suddenly,
" There it is!" Sokka said with excitement. We finally made it to our destination the base only had one tower and crossroads stretched on all four corners. A middle-age man in fine earth kingdom attire greets us, " Welcome, Avatar Aang!" he said warmly, " I am General Fong, and welcome, to all of you great heroes! Appa, Momo, brave Sokka, the mighty Katara, the dexterous Amaya,"
"Mighty Katara? I like that," Katara said pleased.
Suddenly fireworks go off in the distance.
"Not bad, not bad," Sokka said impressed.
