The afternoon sun peered in the sky as we walked the rest of the distance to the Western Air temple.
"This is humiliating." Katara said.
"You mean getting thoroughly spanked by the Fire Nation or having to walk all the way to the Western Air Temple?" asked Sokka.
"Both." Katara replied.
"Sorry guys, but Appa gets tired carrying all these people." Aang said petting Appa's right eye.
"I wonder how the rest of the troops are." Teo asked, "They're probably on their way to a prison. Seems like my dad just got out and now he's going back in." Haru said, I looked to see his frustrated expression. I place a comforting hand on Haru's shoulder. He place his hand on my hand and smiled.
"I miss Pipsqueak." The Duke said in a sad tone.
"I miss not having blisters on my feet." chimed Sokka.
"Hey, we're here! I can feel it!"
I looked up, all that was there was trees, and a deep canyon.
" Uhhh ... I think your feet need their eyes checked." Katara said.
"Yeah, all that's there is a big canyon. You sure this is the right place?" I asked Aang.
"She's right, we are here." Aang said.
"Wow, it's amazing" Toph said in wonder.
We made our way down on Appa. I marveled at the ingenious and fascinating structures.
"It's so different from the Northern Air Temple. I wonder if there are any secret rooms."
"Let's go check it out!" Haru said, running off to explore. Aang begins to follow them but I stopped him using his staff.
"You guys go. I think we need to talk about some things." I said.
"I'll race you, Duke."
"I told you, it's The Duke!"
The three head off exploring.
"Why can't I go?" asked Aang.
"We need to decide what we're gonna do now, and since you're the Avatar, maybe you should be a part of this." I replied. As we all convened by some pillars.
" Fair enough. So, what's the new plan?"
"Well, if you ask me, the new plan is the old plan! You just need to master all four elements and confront the Fire Lord before the comet comes."
"Oh, yeah. That's great, no problem. I'll just do that." Aang says too Sokka sarcastically as he flicks a nearby pebble.
"Aang, no one said it's going to be easy." Katara said.
"Well, it's not even gonna be possible! Where am I supposed to get a firebending teacher?"
"We could look for Jeong Jeong!" Katara suggested. "Yeah ... right." Aang said shooting Katara's idea down. "Like we'll ever run into Jeong Jeong again." He said, as he lays down on the bench without a care.
"Who's ... oh, never mind." Toph said folding her arms irritably. " If it's important I'll find out."
"Oh well, guess we can't come up with anybody. Why don't we just take a nice tour around the temple?" He said as he flies off.
"What's up with him?" Toph asked.
"There's gotta be someone who can teach him firebending." I said, thinking.
"Hey, Amaya can we talk?" Sokka asked as he placed his hand on my shoulders.
"Uh, sure." I said. He carried me away from the other onto the steps.
"So what up?" I asked.
"I don't know how to tell you this." Sokka said as he looked away nervously.
"Sokka, come on. Whatever it is I can take it."
Sokka hesitated and inhaled.
"The Fire Nation took Suki."
Those words pierced my soul. I frowned slightly, trying to piece together what was said.
