[ Chris' POV ]
As the evening went on, I got to learn a lot of things about Anna. Small things. The things which made her who she is today, but I wasn't listening half of the time. Jessica's words were circling around in my mind the whole time and she called me about three times, asking if I told Anna about my 'other life' already.
"And Ella, she just stood there! And... and...," Anna tries telling about the time that she pranked Ella, but she's laughing way too hard for me to even understand what she's saying. I hear a dull 'pling!' from my phone and excuse myself, before walking off to the restroom of the little 24-hours-open-café we're at.
I scan over the message, which one of the guys in the soccer team sent.
Apparently, there's a party and 'you have to be here man! it's sick! best way to celebrate the summer holidays, a party! Jason's here too', at least, that's what Matt texts me.
Matt is one of the jocks on the soccer team, but he isn't as uptight as the rest, so we became friends immediately. I actually happen to like him.
He's also the one who told me that Jason and Anna have been hanging out again. That little shit called Jason is just asking for problems.I need to show him that no one touches my girl. My girl? What the hell am I thinking? Jessica really needs to stop pushing these thoughts in my head.
'Great, text me the address and I'll be there."
[ Anna's POV ]
Just as I start to worry about Chris, he walks out of the restroom. I sigh and smile at him, but knit my eyebrows together when I see him picking up his leather jacket. His style has changed dramatically over the weeks. It went from cute polos to snapbacks to sweatpants to leather jackets.
"You're leaving?" I ask, really confused. He dragged me to this café and we're going to leave already? He's probably sick of my stories. Yes, that must be it.
"Correction, we are leaving," he smiles and grabs my hand, pulling me out of the booth.
"Where are we going? It's already ten," I laugh as I try to keep up with his fast pace.
"You know Matt, right? His brother is throwing this huge party at his house. Matt just texted me," Chris replies. He looks around the quiet street and walks out of the cafe, me stumbling behind him.
"I know Matt, he used to be good friends with Jason," I say, breathing in the summer air. The sun is now gone and it's starting to get a little chilly outside. "But do we really have to go? I'm not really that into parties..." He knows that I don't like to party, so it seems a little weird that he'd suggest we go to one.
"I know, that's why we need to go. You haven't been to a party since we met," Chris grabs my hand and starts walking. I tell him that I've been to Matt's house before and he frowns, but doesn't say anything. "Isn't it fun to get loose and get shitfaced?" He starts laughing and I join him.
"You sound like the average teenage boy," I say, still laughing. "Drink, party, dance, fuck. It's an endless circle." I shrug and shake my head.
"You mean, I sound like Jane," he says, probably joking, but I don't think it's funny. Ouch. He just practically called Jane a slut. I mean, yes I know he's right and I just insulted the average teenage guy, but Jane is one of my best friends. Call me a hypocrite.
"Excuse me?" I ask, pretty offended. "I know that Jane is a fan of parties and boys and stuff, but you don't have to be so rude. She's my best friend, alright?" I cross my arms and start to walk a little faster.
A dog barks somewhere and the engine of a car beside me starts to roar, making me jump a little. Chris starts walking faster too and grabs my arm to prevent me from walking any further.
"What is wrong with you!" I exclaim and turn around. "First, you forget about me completely! And then you have the nerve to insult my friend?" I feel the anger rise up inside of me, but he shuts me up by placing his lips on mine.
I freeze for a second before giving in. It's not my fault that he's a damn good kisser.
[ Chris' POV ]
I had to stop her complains, she was annoying me way too much. When Jack asked me if I could do this, he didn't tell me how irritating she really is. She just keeps asking things about my personal life and keeps pushing me and I'd probably be yelling at her, if it wasn't for the fact that we're making out on the sidewalk. After a few seconds, I feel her wiggling out of my grip, before she pushes me away.
"No...," she tries to say, but I reconnect our lips, only for her to push me away again. "No Chris... I'm mad at you. Again."
I exhale loudly, calming myself and fight the urge to roll my eyes. "I was only joking about Jane, alright? You don't have to be so serious all the time."
"You didn't have to be so rude, joking or not," she bites back. I ruffle my hand through my hair and start walking again. "Let's just go to the party."
"I told you, I don't want to go," she says, like the annoying four year old she is. "You can go if you want to, but I'm heading back." And with that, she whirls around and walks the opposite way.
I decide if I want to go after her, but I decide against it. I've been acting nice the whole day and it's time to reward myself with a few drinks. I read the text of Matt again and walk down the street.
